I'm thinking that this has been deleted for now. But it is nice to hear from a young man that would want to be in Journalism. But the Navy offers so much, why don't you check it out. It is a Honor to serve your Country while getting your education.

there are no more JOs they have been merged into a megarating called MC along with Lithographers and Draftsmen.
However, egtting MC right now is exteremly difficult. It is pretty full and they take VERY fewe new acessions at the moment.

MC score, mass communications specialist. in case you ever seize the pentagon channel you'd be able of work out what they do. also the articles on army.mil are written by MCs. All branches have Public Affairs, although the army MC score and the Marines' strive against journalist is more beneficial useful.
