Yes.
The "ACP" in the name stands for "Automatic Colt Pistol." The term ".380 ACP" originally referred to a particular gun, rather than the cartridge.
Other than ".380 Auto" and ".380 ACP", this cartridge is also known as the "9mm Kurz" and "9mm Corto," but you will likely see those designations outside the USA.

In .380 acp, the 'acp' is an acronym for "Automatic Colt Pisto." The .380 Auto is just an abbreviation for 'automatic.' Yes, it is the same thing. Not so with the .45 acp & the .45 auto rim.

Yes.
ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol - Auto is simply a shortened term. ACP and Auto are used interchangeably on calibers like the .45 ACP (Auto), 32 ACP (Auto), and 25 ACP (Auto), in addition to the .380 ACP (Auto).

This cartridge can also be called 9mm short, 9mm Corto, or 9mm Kurz. .380 ACP means .380 caliber Colt Automatic Pistol. or .380 auto. Gets confusing but the general bullet diameter falls into the 9 mm class. The other names or just different foreign languages describing the word "short."
