Wicca has gone through a lot of changes since the beginning and you will find that different groups practice different forms. There is nothing that is a huge secret, but we still like to have a little mystic.

The first URL will take you to a site where they teach online classes. The second is a great source for finding Wiccans in your neck of the woods.

Sorry, If we told you, they wouldn't be secrets.

Traditional Wicca:
A modern form of Witchcraft is called "Wicca." Traditional Wicca is based on the teachings of Gerald Gardner, is coven based and each coven can trace its lineage (line of teaching passed on by initiated Traditional priests and priestesses) back to Gardner himself. There are offshoots of Gardnerian Traditional Wicca such as Alexandrian Wicca, Georgian Wicca and many others. Traditional Wiccans are considered a 'mystery' religion, require initiation by the coven and have a "degree system" or different levels of rank based upon coven training and the readiness of the initiate to accept the duties and responsibilities of that degree. They have a core of inner knowledge-often called the "Book of Shadows"-which is known only to initiated Wiccans. Most Traditional Wiccans believe in the balance of male-female divinity. Traditional Wiccans are seldom solitary except for those 'Elders'-usually former priests and priestesses-who may have retired from active coven involvement.

First, there really is no "Wiccan" secrets. It used to be part of it that you would keep your knowledge to yourself, but those days are gone, and thank Goddess for it. It's all out there on the table for you to explore just by visiting your local library and checking-out a couple of books about it.

What does Wicca mean to me? Wow. It's changed my whole life for the better. I was never comfortable in Christianity. There was so much "control" by church leaders such as priests and bishops, and it was all false control and empty threats of eternal damnation if I didn't live my life the way they were saying I should, and the way someone told them they should, and so on and so on and so on.

And then the role women play in Christianity was not in alignment with how I felt about women. I felt they were equals to men in every way, and they can give birth.

For me, Wicca is more in alignment with my personal beliefs about life, death, and the everything in between. And I am much happier now, and much less stressed in my life. I have found my path.

What is Wicca? Wicca is a contemporary Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence of nature as a manifestation of the divine. Wicca views Deity as Goddess and God, thus it is polytheistic. It also embraces the practice of ritual and reincarnation. Religious festivals are held in observance of the full moon and other astronomical and agricultural phenomena

In Wicca:

• The Goddess and God are revered as equals, one it neither above nor below the other.

• Human souls enjoy a series of incarnations in human form (reincarnation).

• Power can be sent in non-physical form to affect positive change and the world in positive ways (Christians know this as prayer).

• What is done will be returned to the doer (Karma or as Christians know it: you reap what you sow).

• The earth is our home, our Goddess that gives us life (like a mother gives life to a child). It is not a tool we can abuse or it will not give life back.

• Wiccans are not evangelical. We have no need to "spread the word". We feel if our path is right for someone, they will find us. We don't have to convince anyone to join us.

• A Wiccan accepts EVERY religion as correct to its adherents.

• Wicca accepts members from both sexes, from every race, national origin, and of every sexual preference. There is NO discrimination in Wicca.

• Wicca does not ask for donations or tithing.

• Wicca is a religion, not a political organization. Wicca as a whole does not preach issues or endorse political candidates.

I hope that helps explain it a bit.

Blessed Be

It shows what can happen to religion if there are no set locks.
Wicca was created in the 1950's and was destroyed by new age selectives (a.k.a "Ecclectics") in the 1980's.
What remains is a bunch of misconceptions and ignorance. It started as a religion with promise, but started on a lie, a misconception of its own, when Gardener claimed it to be a old religion... when it was later proven to be created by Gardner himself, such as the Garderian Book of Shadows which was found to contain things from Kipling, the KJV bible, Tantra Yoga, Thelema, The hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, just to list a few...

It pretty much shows to me... Lying is Bad.

Your best bet is to find someone who is into wicca and spend time with them. A true Wiccan won't give you 'inside' info as that is meant for those who are adepts and have spent time disciplining themselves to use the craft for the right reasons. However, if you really wish to be a part of the magickal community, then I would suggest visiting this website:

P.S. Dr Zoom, read the history books before posting ignorance. Wicca has nothing to do with the Devil, that was CHURCH propaganda circulated to justify witch burnings because witches threatened the male dominated church.

It is my faith and one of the foundations my ethics are built on. If you wish to learn the "Secrets" of Wicca, find a teacher and ask to learn. The books in the new age section at your local bookstore are neat and all that, but contain very little to show you the "Mysteries".

Find a coven, be open, learn.

When I think of Wicca I think of nature. It shows you how you are a part of this and helps you identify with it more. Rituals and spells meant to make you appreciate nature more.

Wicca is an earth centered practice of spirituality. It has nothing to do with satanism. It is a peaceful, loving and caring way to practice one's beliefs... and harms no one.
