I'm not underweight or even close, I'm at the top of my healthy weight category and yet still my spine shows throw my back. How can I have love handles and a visible spine showing at the same time? And the thing is that it ind of hurts. It hurts to hunch over all the way and at times i can't lean back in certain chairs.

What can I do to cushion my spine with more fat? Is there any change in my diet that i can do to build up my back muscle/fat? Or maybe back exercises?

Lack of tone in the muscles would contribute to both spine showing and love handles.

You should *not* try to do sit ups now. Your spine might get worse. You don't have enough muscle that will protect it as it is, you might easily pinch a nerve and make it worse. Rather, you should try exercises that strengthen your core muscles without bending your spine too much. Dance classes might be a better option. Pilates or yoga is also very good while being very gentle with your spine. Stretching exercises are safer than any type of bending. Stretch using your own muscles, don't use any machines or contraptions.

You can try this: lie down on the floor on your stomach. Stretch out all the way, stretch your your arms and legs. Lift your arm and legs couple of inches off the ground and hold for 10 seconds.

Healthy weight range is very approximate. I think US has higher values than any other country in the world regarding the healthy weight range. So use it only as a guidance and take it with the grain of salt.

Exercise works better than diets. Unless you think you eat too much, don't bother with diets. Avoid eating a lot for dinner, keep your dinner small.

I am about 130 and my spine shows, and will if you are at a healthy stature, unless you build muscle which in turn will cover the spine in muscle. I would consult your physician about the spine hurting. You may have simply bruised it, or you could have early signs of scoliosis.

No, even though you may have a mild scoliosis, it will have to be no difficulty since it is rather typical. no, don`t fear in any respect. the backbone has usual anterioposterior curvatures however lateral curvatures (correct or left) is known as scoliosis. But once more, most likely it's extra an outline than a major deformity. The muscle tissue across the vertebra could grow to be strained as they pull to compensate the curvature, inflicting again agony. ;)
