I laughed my a$$ off when I saw it. (It's on the yahoo front page but it's a streaming news story)
I can tell that there is one "physicist" who will be out of a job soon.
Apparently this guy is a born again (big surprise) who thinks he can hoodwink people into believing that god exists (it doesn't of course) by pretending to use physics or math to "prove" his point.
I for one would LOVE to see the slapping he's going to receive at the hands of his colleagues. It's going to be epic.

I can't post the link as it's on the yahoo site, and one of those "news" sections. If someone can tell me how to do that, I'll gladly post it here.

Here it is on another source.: http://twm.co.nz/goswintro.htm

No real details, but it is just ID with a little weird math behind it from the looks of it. It isn't peer reviewed. (Well that last bit was rather obvious.)

I've seen the video. The guy is way way off base, the biggest flaw being that he defines God as being the cosmological singularity, which amounts to deism- not the god of the bible. His "finding" is incredibly arbitrary and doesn't force (his word) anyone to conclude god exists, just that a singularity exists. Now, since there is theoretically a singularity at the heart of every black hole, does that mean there are multiple gods? The guy also claims he arrived at his conclusion based on "hardnosed" physics. As history has shown, physics has been anything but hardnosed or absolutely irrefutable.

I saw the links. What I saw was a guy writing on a board => God exists.

He said he could prove it. He didn't do so on camera though.

From what I was able to interpret, he simply found one cosmological unity and called it God. If you name something "god", and it exists, you can legitimately claim that "god" exists. This in no way proves that this being or thing that you have named god is responsible for all of creation. It in no way proves that this thing is intelligent, omniscient, omnipotent or anything else.

The guy may be smart, but he's a smart quack.

You can define god into existence if you define him as the universe (cosmological singularity). I looked at some of Professor Tipler's writings, and it's all just a word game. It's a pity to see someone so intelligent get so wrapped up in proving his fantasies.

By the way, here's the link to the news report:

I won't lie, their telephone provider is poor, it cuts off and has problems for all time. besides the undeniable fact that it is well worth it!

Why are people so out to prove God. That defeats the purpose of having faith and going to god because you want to , not because you have to.

I bet that guys is hilarious and delusional though. Most people out to prove christianity seem "off"

Physicists have a reputation for being pretty smart. And many are Christians. Obviously, you think that you know more; but, you are just a little twerp. God is way out of your league. But, in the words of a great physicists, "...you may disbelieve at your peril."

I've got to check it out. Why physics equation could prove the existence of a contradictory being?

I believe you mis-read it, it probably said, psychic has proof of God's existence.
