My boyfriend and I are very much in love and are loyal to each other. However, because of complicated reasons (and yes, there are reasons) our relationship has been kept a secret. A friend of mine has just told me that she likes my boyfriend, and I don't how to react. I am not worried about what might happen between the two of them because he loves me more than anything, and to be honest, my friend is too shy to make a move. However, I would like to know how to address this manner with my friend.
A similar insidence has occured with my boyfriend. One of his friends started to like him, and I gave him permission to tell her about the relationship between the two of us. I feel that my situation is even more complex, though. I don't want to ask my boyfriend for permission to tell her, as that would be violating my friend's privacy and spilling her secret. And I don't want to keep it away from my boyfriend.I don't want anything to be awkward between my friend and my boyfriend, either!

I am used to encouraging my friend to make the move, but i don't want to give her false hope with this one... she'll figure something is up between him and I if i try to still keep the secret from her.

If your friend is as shy as you say she is, she'll very quickly back down if you say "Actually, I think he's got a girlfriend already. Sorry, hun. :S"

Finally a question worth answering (was getting sick of the omg does he like me ones).
You need to address the situation with the friend first. She needs to understand that if she is your friend that she cannot persue these feelings. It is common that friends share the same crushes due to the friends sharing many things in common.
Perhaps try helping her find someone else, dont let the weirdness destroy the relationship.

It would have made the relationship a lot easier if you told your closes friends about the relationship so events like this wouldn't happen. The best thing to do is tell your friend the truth and hope for the best.

First of all, you should have just told her right then and there. If you don't want to violate your friends privacy you can tell that to your boyfriend and he will probably understand. Just ask your boyfriend if its ok to tell a girl you know that likes him that he's seeing someone. You don't even have to say he's seeing you, you can just say she is some girl he knows from a different place or you can say he told you he is seeing someone but he didn't tell you who.

Friends are very important in your life, your boyfriend and the friend who share with you her secret. Your reason are your own as to why you have this as a secret realationship. If your boyfriend does love you and also wish to keep you and your secret of him, then i would suggest share your friends feeling with him. a realationship the bears secret should try to keep the truth in all communication. such as this situation is if you share with him he does not have to share with her.
Intress can be applied to another person but if it is also know and unwanted, it can be discreetly discouraged, so no one is harmed. As for revieling a secret told to you by a friend, it is a conflicting secret with yours, and it harms you more then your friend to not share it. I'm not say to ytell it to then world, just share it with you Secret Love.
With the new info resently added:
If you share with him, but still encourage her, and he discourages her simply, then your secret might still be safe.

I am82 years of age - proposed to my wife at 15 - married at 20 - had 58 years together
If your boyfriend and you are inlove,. never hesitate to confide in him and never share your innermost secrets with anyone else.
You and he are important and others come and go in your life - be faithful to him and demand, not just expect, that your lives are more important than worrying about the opinions of others. Love, cherish and honor
each other. Good luck
By the way, at 82 I am in love with a truly beautiful woman of 91 - Love knows no age limits but demands that we share our hearts.
Remember, "I love you",whispered or shouted, says it all.
Good Luck
