Just because your Asian and she had that attitude does not mean race is the reason.
Most likely she had a bad day or a bad customer right before you and ended up taking it out on your change.
Inform the manager of the store that she was a bit rude with your change. Do not ask for her to be fired or reprimanded, just inform them of her attitude.

If i were you i would just get over it.
Think about it, she deals with the public all day long.
Everyone works hard jobs ...but not everyone has to take the crap cashiers or anyone dealing with customer service have to deal with.
People treat these people like bottom of the barrel, so before you she was most likely chewed out by a customer angry that a certain item that was on sale was not on the shelves and the store was out(in which is NOT cashiers fault) but since she's who the customers see gets chewed out.
Now she could just me a moody lady, so next time see how she treats you again then maybe it might just be that she has a bad attitude just don't get her fired if you don't know certain what was going on when you were treated poorly.
Just remember a time while at work and your boss yelled at you for something stupid and how irate you must have felt at that moment , you think you could put on a fake smile and converate with customers??
Good luck just don't jump the gun remember she most likely has a family to support and bills to pay with that small paycheck she gets! Sorry so long i'm in a typing mood lol.

As a Wal-mart Cashier ( i'll take your sympathy ;-) ) , I feel for her , But she had no right to be somewhat rude to you. It could've been worse ...she didn't swear at you or anything of that nature Thak heavens( i've seen it) But it was unprofessional. I suggest writing a small note expressing as sweetly as possible ( i.e. no name calling or swearing or hinting at ageism /racisim) that you were disappointed by the cashiers lack of friendliness. Mention that you understand everyone has bad days and you sincerely hope that was all it was.
If this was just a really crappy day ( I've had co-workers get served divorce papers, told their parent died etc while at work and had to continue the 9 hour shift) , she'll be talked to gentlely ie not fired but warned...however if this isn't the first complaint ...other discipline matters will be taken.
Either way try not to judge her ( even though she deserves it) until you have stood a few shifts on the other side of the counter....you never know what may have just happened , a customer may have been very rude to her earlier and she took it out on you. I'm not making excuses just ....i've been there. :-)
Hope this helps

You can, but chances are that the manager has asked employees to make sure that students aren't loitering around the store. You say that people go there after school a lot. I'm guessing that they don't usually go in alone (or in very small and quiet groups), buy an item, and are out and off the property again inside of five minutes. If community members complain, or customers start avoiding the store because of teens "hanging out," the establishment can ask you to go. It could also be that the kids from your school have been shoplifting (maybe they even have someone who looks like you on camera swiping something). In any case, your leaving and then quickly returning was definitely strange behavior and I'm not surprised that it caught a clerk's attention. Next time you have to buy something, go do it yourself. You don't need to bring a friend in. Also, rather than snapping, "I'm not hanging out" and brushing past him, you could have said, "I need to buy Name of Product." Had you done that, he probably would have left you alone or offered to help you find it.

Dude I hate rude employees at store as well, I am white and I get it as well from other white, black, and other ethnicity's. It might be racism, but don't count on it. If it bothered you that much then you might call the manager. She probably won't get fired, but she will get disciplinary action.
Some people are so upset with their own lives they look down on others while they are at work. Just remember when you're in that position to treat all customers with respect, because the customers are your real bosses. Not many people realize this, but if she were to piss off every customer there would be no business, and therefore no money to pay her fat ***. Remember who's really paying you.
Don't let it get to you too much, you are not the only one who gets treated like ****. Just don't shop at that store anymore, I have chosen not to shop at certain places because of overly rude people. Not cool, there lives can't suck that much, they do have a job so they should be happy. Besides, working at CVS isn't really that stressful of a job. I actually work for one (believe it or not), it's really easy as long as you don't piss people off!
Being in a bad mood is NO excuse, every job recommends you keep your personal life at home. It's a simple concept, just remember the paycheck you're going to get and start bitching when you get home.

I'm sympathetic to you, but let's start with those little predjudices of your own. Being overweight and middle-aged isn't a reflection of anyone's competence or ettiquette. So let's leave that out of it. That said, I'd be more inclined to think she hates her job and was already in a bad mood before you stepped up. It would be appropriate for you to call the manager or write note and express you disappointment with the service and that it may cause you to go to the other drug store down the street next time. Hit 'em in the pockebook where it hurts the most.

like the first person said probably a conmonation of all 3. She's just pissed that she's a fat ugly b*tch and is never going to beable to get a boyfriend. the ageing always has something to do with it as well. Just walk past her with pride knowing that you are better then her and don't let her jealousy change that.

What she did was very unprofessional, rude and wrong. If it hurts you so bad you can talk to a store manager. It is costumers rights to have good service and it doesn,t matter if it is a CVS store or Cristian Dior shop.

Before you go off pissing to the manager, think of a few things first. What if you were in her position? What if she is having the roughest time of her life? There are a million and one different possibilities for why she was in a crummy mood. Yes, she should have responded to you better because you were the customer, but has she done this to you before? If you have only witnessed this one time, I wouldn't say anything.
If you feel like you should tell the manager, do so in a tasteful way. Be polite and say that you are aware that maybe she is having personal issues, but that you felt terrible while checking out because of her attitude. Suggest that the manager speak to her about keeping her personal matters out of her job.

Probably a combination of all three. I would call and ask to talk to the manager and express how unhappy you are at the service you received. I'm sorry this happened, try to have a good day anyway.
