could they be sick and tired of one 20 minute serial taking 60 minutes to watch because every show now contains 40 minutes of commericals?

Could it be that the original IDEA BEHIND PAY CABLE WAS THAT THERE WAS NO COMMERICALS? but they lied and sold us down the road infusing even more commercials than ever?

My number one reason: Reality Shows. For the most part, everything on tv is mind-numbing. The news channels aren't news, they get talking points from the administration to keep our attention diverted away from the real social issues, and captivated by matters of no real importance. Hopefully it will go down another 2.5 million next year, and the networks might realize we've had enough.

Probably all of the above, but I also think people are tiring of the reality show genres, the ' talent' show genres and the endless reruns between ratings periods and all summer.
Also think the writing is of poor quality in many cases usually by young people under 40 who haven't had alot of life experiences and only do humour that is lame or racist or mean.
I also think the networks rather than their cable stations should start programming to people over 50 and stop with the lowest common denominator 12-40 year olds. Other than the tweens , who has the most money , baby boomers and the advertisers and tv producers sure aren't marketting to us, that's why I rely on mainly on pbs, my canadian networks and on occasion regular cable network tv.
Why not bring back variety programming? Have shows that have more than 22 episodes like they did in the old days. Have more live drama , concerts , broadway plays.
About the only thing I stay home to watch on a network nowadays is HOUSE. Have more shows that make people want to stay home and watch and not necessarily tivo or tape.

I am not looking at much TV anymore because there is nothing of interest to watch.
I personally think they had better shows in the 80s and 90s than that do in this decade. Too much sex and violence for me. I did like Heroes and Invasion.
I stay on cable and watch the reruns of shows from the past if I do watch TV

They finally wised up and turned their TV off and either their computer or video game system on. There isn't anything to watch anymore. If they don't like a story on the Internet they can do what we're doing when we make our thoughts known.

The regular networks killed themselves by not giving us viewers something good to watch.
TIVO is the best, run through the commercials.

I know I disconnected my cable TV. I got sick of all of the pro-Zionist/ anti-Islamic war propaganda. I am sick of Hollywood too quite frankly. It is a shame that both our foreign policy and our movie industry is dominated by Israel.
