my friends told me it was illegal so i just wanted to know if you download music from it can it be illegal ?

You CAN'T download anything 'from' limewire. Any files come from other users who are connected at the time. And the thing that gets prosecuted is offering songs, NOT downloading them.

Yes it is illegal to download music off of limewire if you just run basic limewire and don't pay the fee. On the other hand if you pay the fee to run advanced limewire then no it really isn't "illegal".

Yes, you can download music and burn them to a CD. Sure, it's illegal, but I've been using it for a long time. Works really well :-)

downloading music without paying for it is illegal. Its stealing. Limewire is illegal. You can download music for it. but its illegal.

yes its illegal, unless if your gona buy the music. but downloading it and just keeping it to yourself wont hurt. just dont make copies and distribute it in any way.
i have about 4000 songs downloaded from limewire.
i just keep it to myself..... ok, i share it to my friends, but at least i dont sell them.
back to your question.... yes its illegal if you download copyrighted stuff like music, movies, programs....
but for files that are shareware or trial versions.. its completely legal.
