Every State is different so I can only honestly give you what my state says, I live in California. Here in California you can get an abortion without parental consent now. However it seems you are taking the road to having the baby and giving it a chance for something that you feel you may not be able to provide at this time which I definetly applaud you for, because it is not an easy choice to give up a child. Here in California to sign paternity rights over you would sign and then a parent would have to most likely co-sign with you, you also for obtaining a birth certificate need a parent to co-sign if you are under 18. You may also drop your baby off at an fire station, police station, church or hospital and be asked no questions. I hope this helps and you make a good decision for yourself and your baby

No limit. I think it is a wonderful to give your baby up for adoption. There are so many couples out there that desperately want a baby but can't get pregnant.
I'm sure you will make a great mother someday, but you are still a child yourself and you have a lot of living to do until you are ready.
By considering adoption you are really showing us how much you love your baby and want the best for him//her. Good luck!!

Any and all ages can. call your local hospital they will have information for you. Many loving families are out their that can give a child all the love, support, maturity the child needs. As well as many options for the birth parent such as an open adoption where the birth mother can have a relationship with the child, or receive letters and picture of the child, or a closed adoption. As well as supporting the birth mother through her pregnancy. My best wishes, please explore this option in high school a friend of my opted for an open adoption and both her and the childs biological father were very happy and never regretted their decision... I myself am looking to adopt in the future After I have my college degree. Talk to a trusted adult as soon as you can for help.

Alena, what a hard decision to make for you. I respect you very much for thinking your options through and taking the time to get other opinions. My prayers and well wishes go out to you.
If you decided to place you baby up for adoption please know that I have a great family who would love to have a child. She has been my best friend since I was 3 (now 37) and she cannot have children. She is a kindergarten teacher and loves children so much.
Feel free to email me any time. I would be happy to help you any way I can.

I placed a child for adoption and I had just turned 18 years old 2 weeks before. You have to be 18 years old to do it yourself. Also, you will have to make a list of potential fathers so they also relequish there rights. If you are under 18 your parents have rights to your baby and the fathers parents have rights to the child as well.

I think that you can do it at any age, that would make sense seeing as there is no age limit on having a kid. Talk to your parents or an adult you trust, Im sure they can help you figure it out. Im glad that you are doing whats right for the baby. Good Luck!

Although state laws may vary, in my state there is NO age restriction and parental consent is not required. Nevertheless, your parents could file to adopt the child without your knowing (once the child was placed for adoption). In this case your parents would have a much better chance (being related) to adopt the child.
And in my state your parents cannot force adoption or termination, which I believe is great!
However research adoption agencies for their specifications, they have to follow state laws but are also able to make them stricter.

There is no set age for how old the birth mother has to be. I hope that if you are pregnant and are in fact 13 that you find a stable adoptive family to care for your child and you do not choose abortion. I hope that your family will be able to support you.
Just remember, when you put your child up for adoption, it's no longer yours. Only biologically. Your child will have a mother and father that will raise it and care for it. Make an informed decision. If you choose adoption you are blessing a family with a child of their own.
