You can't just lose belly fat without losing the weight. So think about losing weight and the belly fat will go too.

The first answerer is correct. There is no such thing as localized fat burning. You honestly have to do like 5k situps to lose an ounce of fat or something. All they do is tone the muscles underneath. You probably want to do a fat burning type work out on a treadmill or go for daily walks. Supposedly, the peak time for fat burning is not your target heart rate for aerobic exercise, it's actually a bit lower. Also, varying your workouts will help you not reach a peak or get bored. Losing weight is like changing your lifestyle pretty much I think. So definately look into healthy eating habits, etc.

Fat stored under the abdominal muscles and around intestines and organs contributes to pushing out the abdominal muscles and fat, causing the pop belly. Despite what you see advertised on TV and in magazines, there is no such thing as spot reduction. Genetics, gender, hormones, and age are the major factors that determine the pattern of fat storage and its loss. To reduce fat in any one area of the body requires total body fat reduction. For many men and women, the first place to gain and the last place to lose fat is the tummy. Such exercises as sit-ups, crunches, hip and leg raises only exercises muscles beneath fat. It is important to keep your metabolism going and to give your body a somewhat steady supply of calories. Skipping a meal will lead your body to think, "uh-oh. I wonder where and when the next meal is happening" and your metabolism will slow as well as your body hoarding supplies.

Aerobic exercises (running, swimming, biking, etc.) and some ab workouts (sit-ups, crunches, twisters, etc.) and the #1, very important thing.... EATING HABITS!!!! it's like trying to get water out of a boat with a hole in it... u can be losing belly fat... but will be adding more at the same time while you eat unhealthy foods.... a "cheat" day is good though... but make sure u don't cheat too much....
BEST OF LUCK!!!

since we cant choose which body parts to lose the weight off it just has to be overall weight loss.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Unfortunately, despite what the infomercials say, you can't target one particular area for fat loss. (This is known as the spot reduction myth). You need to maintain a calorie deficit (expend more calories than you consume) which will lead to overall fat loss including your belly. Note: For women hips, buttocks and thighs tend to be the last areas to become lean.

You can reduce belly fat by doing aerobic exercises like walking, swimming and rowing. Such exercises help in supplying enough oxygen to the body to burn fat. More info at http://tinyurl.com/2crxsn
