Probably, people seem to be mixing every kind of breed they can in hopes of making money for something original, special and new.

If a maltese and a bichon frise are bred you will get a mixed breed /mutt. A bichon frise is not a combination of any other breeds. It is definitely NOT a maltese/spaniel mix. Bichons Frise are purebred dogs that go back centuries as a breed. You can not get one unless you breed a male bichon frise to a female bichon frise.

Of course. There is any number of breed combinations and they are all mutts. That doesn't make them a bad dog though. The breeding is most likely an accident and that means someone that owned either dog was being an irresponsible pet owner. If you are not a responsible (showing) breeder you should have had your dog spayed or neutered before it was mature enough to reproduce.

I have heard of them, but I haven't ever seen one. I know my mom has a bichon frise and a beagle mix.

I am sure someone somewhere is breeding them. People will breed anything these days and stick a cutesy label on it and charge thousands for mutts.
