1 attempt to hold a conversation in club level music

No way. I'd go outside or somewhere private.

2 place a call while in the midst of a large, loud, ghetto crowd

See above

3 attempt to hold a conversation while dozing off to sleep

Sometimes I'll talk when I'm really tired because I haven't heard from the person in a while, so yes.

4 call to inform the recipient that the call must end

What? That makes no sense. So, NO.

5 engage in a serious conversation or any other conversation to begin passing the phone to others.

Depends on who it is, yes.

6 ask information concerning the surroundings of and those that surround the recipient of the call.

No

7 leave a conversation “on hold” for more than 2 minutes.

On my personal phone no I haven't. At work I have, but its because I got so busy I forgot. So, no.

8 schedule to return a call if it is not possible.

? If it is not possible for what? If you mean "schedule a return call if it is not possible to talk to them now" yes. If you mean "schedule a return call even though you won't return their call" then no.

9 forget that you are or were holding a phone conversation

Nope.

NO to ALL!! Those are irritating to me... especially 4 & 6. As far as 7, I don't even stay on hold for a full minute. They have my number; they can call me back when they are done!

You bring up some interesting points. All there answers should be common sense. Unfortunately, common sense is not that common.

Even sadder still, face to face etiquette is just as bad.

Thank you! I have dumped several girls because they violated the above rules.... I hate it when they have no phone manners! Now if you forgive me, there's someone holding for me on the other line... Respect!
