If time does not exist in Heaven, and human happiness is a process of a struggle and attainment, how can one be "happy" in Heaven - essentially I'm asking what do you do with happiness once you've got it if neither it nor you can move forward?

Fascinating idea, this concept of work in Heaven. Pangel, you know I'm closer to your concept of "spirit world" than the "fluffy cloud" heaven, but fushdis said it clearly - there's work to do in Heaven. How does one work - and therefore continue to renew one's happiness - in a realm which most people appear to be saying has no time in it. I genuinely need to get a handle on this for a book I'm writing - not just trying to be provoking folks ;o) Thanks for some great answers so far...

I am happy learning , this doesn't mean once I have learned something I will wish to stop
I will want to learn something else , go on to other things
happiness does not have to become stagnant
we may continue to learn , and enjoy things

spirit realms are not about sitting contentedly on fluffy clouds watching eternity to go
as I understand it , we may be extremely busy

Happiness in Heaven doesn't come from works (although there will be work to do) and the idea of time won't be important either. Happiness will come from being with Jesus, just being near Him. I felt a taste of this once and it changed my life. The idea that human happiness is a process of struggles and attainments is an earthly one. You can't apply earthly feelings to Heaven.

There are many things about Heaven that do not seem to make sense to those of us here on earth. The only answer I've been able to come to is that we will be completely transformed by the prescence of God. What was true for us here on earth will not necessarily be true for us in heaven.

There is work to do in heaven they don't all sit around and look at one another and sing hymns. No matter where you go in heaven and there are seven levels there is always something to do. Every one does their best to progress upwards hardly anyone gets to the seventh level when they pass over it would be too bright for them.

Not everyone goes to heaven.
That privilege is reserved for only 144,000 [ Rev. 7;4 and 14;1]
(Revelation 20:4) And I saw thrones, and there were those who sat down on them, and power of judging was given them. Yes, I saw the souls of those executed with the ax for the witness they bore to Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had worshiped neither the wild beast nor its image and who had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand. And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years.

These are not angels.

They are those who were once people, with all their earthly experience . Something angels can not have.
An angel would not know what it is like to feel sorrow or pain.
So what about the rest of us?
When we die, all our sins are 'paid for'. (Romans 6:23) For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

So the judgement by Jesus and the 144,000 [ or 24 elders,,Rev. 11;16] is concerned with the attitude of those ones who are being resurrected...to the facts of God's new Kingdom, with Jesus as King.
Rev. 20; 12,13.
Those who comply will have a wonderful future without sickness or death...on the earth.
(Psalm 37:9) For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.
(Psalm 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Not sure I'd be interested in moving forward from perfection.
Whatever His will is, I'm there.

Discontentment will be taken from the people and they will not feel like this, ever.
