i'm tall, blonde, and athletic. i get glances from lots of guys around, but there is this one guy in particular that's hot, and he just so happens to glance my way ALOT. but thats in general as far as it goes, multiple glances/stares. and then he goes and flirts with about every other chick in the room.
why. i don't really understand, so a little help would be greatly appreciated <3 :)

Ok. Here's the truth.
The more a guy likes you, the more he respects you, the harder it is for him to be rejected by you.
AND, tall women are harder to approach... You know us guys, it's hard to be macho when you're with a woman who is taller than you...
Here's what I think. He's trying to show you that he is available by hitting on the other girls... But he really wants to hit on you.
Strike up a conversation. Flirt a little with him and see where it goes. If he's staring at you then he is interested.
As macho and self confident as we want you to believe we are, we too are full of self doubt... It's not easy to ask a woman out. How many times can a guy take a woman laughing in his face? And believe me, it happens and it hurts.
So, give him a little hint. AND, if he doesn't respond the first time, don't give up. We guys can be pretty dense. He'll walk around all day asking himself if you were flirting with him... He'll have to think of a way to approach you without looking like a dork... Give him more than one chance. Ok?

maybe he doesn't think he has a chance with you, so he settles for the other chicks, i would hint that you're interested the next time he glances in your direction, by giving him a smile or something there of. If he still doens't get the hint you can try making the move. but of course there's always the chance than he's just not interested

Most Guys glance at girls until they get the girl they want maybe he is just looking for a girlfreind you might be a choice
if you like him back then go up to him and pop the question

Maybe he's been mocked by friends who found out that he might like you, and to prove them wrong, he goes out of his way to do just the opposite. However, it could be that he just coincidentally looks at you, and respects you as a classmate and not as a person to start a relationship with. Could you define some of the things he does around you?

He's intimidated by your beauty. He may think you're completely out of his league, and has given up before ever trying. Maybe you need to make the first move. Walk up to him sometime and talk to him. Ask him what he thinks of his English class, or ask him what he plays in the band, etc., and then bite your lip or play with your hair when he talks to you. He'll get the clue; if he doesn't then just ask him out. If he stutters or gets all nervy, just smile and say, "Great! Pick me up at 8!"

Sounds just like me! I am a cheerleader, really athletic, considered "popular" at school and I am blonde. I am constantly being told that guys think I am hott but I hardly ever get asked out. I really dont know why but it makes me madd!

Um, yeah, guys do tend to do that quite often. Mostly because they haven't been egged on by their friends enough to ask the gal her name and what not. The other reason he's flirting with other gals after eye-balling you for a while is he's probably hoping to get YOU to go to him, which is rather chicken if you ask me.
