My Distributor cap does not indicate a #1 so how do I know which is the firing and what order they go in from there...

Remove the valve cover, and distributor cap. Rotate the motor until the number 1 cylinder (nearest the radiator) is at top dead center on the compression (firing) stroke). You can tell by looking at the timing mark on the harmonic balancer
AND when both intake and exhause valves are closed (look at the #1 cylinder cam lobes). Now look at the distributor rotor and make a reference mark somewhere on the distributor body that can be seen after you put the cap back on. That is the approximate location for firing the #1 cylinder so go ahead and install the cap and plug them all back in. The wires should go in the following order: 1-5-3-6-2-4 (counter-clockwise).
