I need to do a Spanish report on the weather in different countries. I know all the other words, it's just that I don't know how to say "it is" in Spanish

Well...If you are talking about weather you should use the word 'hace'

For example:
Hace fresco en Espana= It is cool in Spain.
Hace calor en Peru= It is hot in Peru

and so on and so forth.

Hope this helps!

It really depends on what you want to say. Some examples below.
It is hot = hace mucho calor
It is windy = soplan vientos fuertes
It is raining = llueve (or "esta lloviendo")
It is warm = esta calido or "hace calor"
It is snowing = nieva ( or "esta nevando")
It is cold = hace frio

it is = es

it is late = es tarde

but if you are talking about the weather you would say

hace

hace calor = it is hot

or está

it is snowing = está nevando
