Why is it impossible for most on this board to have even the smallest amount of respect for anyone who doesn't beleive the same as they do? Is it brainwashing and insecurity about themselves? Why feel the need to attack those of other faiths if you are so strong in your own? Personally, when I ask questions, I'm trying to clear the air. I'm not stating abuse or name calling in them when I post them. Mine are educational and try to get people of all faiths communicating and trying to work towards peace. But there are more on here than others who seem to enjoy hatred and chaos and can't stand to see people living in peace. What's wrong with those people? Were their home lives so chaotic that experiencing happiness and acceptance is impossible for them? I would sincerely like to know. Was bashing and defamation acceptable in their homes? It wasn't in mine, and my mom would ground us for weeks if we were that disrespectful. I guess not all parents want a good world for kids.

I guess their parents never taught them respect, either, judging from the answers so far.

I don't think it is so much insecurity as it is a mixture of media, frustration, and ignorance. People of all religions are very quick to judge someone who doesn't believe as they do, and that's just human. In fact, it's not only about religion, it's about everything and no matter what we do or say it won't change anything if people don't want to accept and learn.
Personally I think we can all learn from different religions, races, and ethnicity's if we keep an open mind and accept people without barriers. We may be surprised at how many wonderful people we can meet.
As far as disrespect, people cannot respect others until they respect themselves first. Those with low self esteem feel the need to bash and put others down and think it makes them look big when in fact it shows their true character.
Peace

I accept anyone. I like the message your post sends. Ignore those disrespectful people.
I think a lot of it has to do with insecurity. If they were secure in their beliefs then they wouldn't need to go around saying that everyone else is "wrong".
Other people probably have no lives so they spend their time making fun and offending complete strangers just because they think it's "funny".
If your beliefs bring you happiness then that is all that should matter to you.

You know you are absolutely right!!..it must be bad upbringing! ..bashing an abusing somone's belief and making fun of it or joking about is not just cruel its unkind!! and people who disrespect just cause they might have a different view of point just goes to show what they lack in loving and living in peace ,It is this sort of attitude that brings in hate and malice between religions ,countries,cultures..it only brings in racism and war.
Some scoop low even more by becoming trolls n having fake identities to bash, abuse n slander just to confuse people more..and that is not fair!..its just bad upbrining and having no moral or ethic values!..

I'm not sure if it is insecurity, brainwashing or jealousy, but regardless of what we call it, it's really not acceptable. There is no reason to disrespect ANYBODY for their beliefs, regardless of what they may be. Apparently some parents did not teach their children that, amongst other things.

Everything was fine until terrorists started coming to our great country, with the desire to destroy us because of their jealousy for our way of life and freedom. I still can't figure out why they love to go to school here in the U.S., instead of attending school in their own country. I guess that says something for our great educational system.

Well, your smoke and mirrors diatribe doesn't work.
There are some people that might be mentally challenged enough to believe the words you use to try and spin the darkness to look like light.
It is "Not" bashing to call a spade a spade.
It is acceptable and reasonable in "Normal" peoples homes to understand that when a 54 year old man like the founder of your so called glorious religion puts it to a 9 year old little girl sexually, it is a "Very Bad Evil" thing.

I have no respect for anyone who condones or looks up to persons that do those horrid things!
Or to those that try to spin it to look good!
Your propaganda doesn't work!
We will never forget this picture below!!

I think they're insecure in their beliefs. If they weren't, why would they get so mad when you ask a question? If you truly have faith, than questions shouldn't bother you.

Good try. I like your attempt anyway.
The anonymity of the internet makes this sort of rudeness possible. Personally, I think it's grand.
Not that I like the rudeness, but I like the fact that it's the better argument that wins the day, not good looks, stature or intimidation.
The kids in my class used to go from my Greek class over to Dr. Hocking's whatever class and vic versa each time bringing the latest volley in various ongoing arguments. I'd always prevail in these little skirmishes unless we spoke directly when he would interrupt and (with his loud baratone voice) drown me out and make it look like his point was superior (which it never was).
Good looking or intimidating people generally look bad because their avatar is uncreative and as dismal as their mental acuity.
And I must have hit a nerve, just look at how many thumbs down I've gotten. Lots of air head spoiled brats here today!
Ha ha ha ha ha.

It's really how they are influenced that reflect on how they act and what they were taught as a youth.
