I was told (Boobs) is that right?

NO ! It does not mean boobs. Tata is usually used in Mexico and Northern Guatemala,it means "daddy."

"Tetas" is boobs.

It is the acronym for "siempre recuerda tata's allegre", which translates into English as "always remember happy breasts". ;-) I thought you might find humor in a "creative" answer, since so many others have already given the 'correct" answer. lol

It's a matter of regionalism, I mean, it could mean different things in different areas/regions/countries. One meaning of the word "Tata" (without the "s" at the end) is "Padre" (Father). "Tata Dios" means "God the Father". Both examples are valid for the "gauchos" (a kind of cow-boy of the Pampas in Argentina). I do not know about other meanings of the word Tata or Tata's.

"Tata" means father. Grandparents could be called "Tata" too.

Tata is the familiar name to call the female person taking care of a child.

In Murcia = father

boobs would be "tetas" in Spain. NOT tatas.

I am living in Spain, so I should know.

tata means father or grandfather... so tata's would be something like my dad's or grandfather's whatever.... TETAS is boobs.
