The fruit is meant to spread its seed. Animals eat the fruit (with the seed), expel it through their feces to the ground, and you have a newly planted seed ready to grow.

In regards to the plant, the fruit is the way in which plants spread their seeds.

It's a partnership. A plant produces fruit so that animals will eat it and **** it out a few hours later in a different place..and hopefully if the conditions are right them seeds will grow and the process will continue.

Which is amazing because without plants we'd all be dead. no food source for animals, and no air for us.

As far as I know, the fruit is the portion of the plant that is dedicated to spreading its seeds. All true fruits have seeds in the center. The fruit itself is composed of water and sugar (like cellulose), which can help to nourish a young plant.
