How many muslim men do u know "PERSONALLY" who have more than one wife... I insist on the word "personally"

I belong from a muslim country and know only a handful of muslims who have more than one wife... more than one marriage is permissible in islam but its not mandatory for every muslim... more than one marriage is permitted in islam but is not practiced widely

Very few. I know maybe one or two. I've realized that very few muslims actually practice this, interesting question, though.

This is a good question. Personally, I do not frown upon any religion for the sole purpose of allowing its members to have multiple wives. Christians especially should not pass judgement since King Solomon had over 700 wives.

I think that having multiple wives may work for some people, but in most cases would be a recipe for disaster. I tremble at the thought of dealing with more than 1 occurence of PMS per month and more than 1 birthday, anniversary, valentines, and christmas present to buy per year.

I think you are missing the point. I don't care if any men, muslim or not, are stupid enough to take more than one wife. The problem is that islam permits it. We know the problems it causes in Mormonism. This is one doctrine that may be the hair that broke the camels back...oops

Even as a Muslim myself, I only know of one Muslim man who has more than one wife. The Imam at my local Masjid actually just recently took a second wife.

I have known many Muslim men from the time I went to college onwards and not one of them had more than one wife.

No it is not true. It is in regards to the "satanic versus". it's authenticity is weak, most scholars believe it to be fabricated. It means that in terms of hadith, this oral tradition has many missing links and can not be directly linked back to the prophet. The six major hadith collections- Sahih Bukhari- Imam Bukhari (d. 870) 7275 hadiths Sahih Muslim -Muslim Ibn al-Hajjaj (d. 875) included 9200 Sunan Abi Da'ud- Abu Da'ud (d. 888) Sunan al-Tirmidhi- al-Tirmidhi (d. 892) Sunan al-Sughra- al-Nasa'i (d. 915) Sunan Ibn Maja -Ibn Maja (d. 886) Notice Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Sa'd and Al-Tabari are NOT listed there.

I wish they could not marry at all, if they are going to suppress woman and not treat them as equils. I get the feeling eastern culture treats women more like proprty than a indiviual thinking soul that should have as many rights as men. And as for Kurdish, Your a disgrace to stone a young girl for just liking someone of another faith. I spit at your culture, your not a civilized society, if i got the group wrong I appologize, but it happened, I saw what happened by video. The poor 17 yr old laying near death on the street as they threw stones and killed her.

I know a dozen Muslims personally. I don't know any with more than one wife.

My fiancee is Muslim.

I'm personally not against polygamy.

God only allows his elect to have the option of polygamy.

The illegitimate should only be allowed one wife or none at all.
