find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Drop the cereal after school. Substitute it with fresh fruit. Eat as many of those as you like to fill you up. And what is your mom making for dinner?
Something isnt right. Because im pretty much doing the same thing. NO sodas for me though. Fruit and maybe oatmeal for brkfast. Yogurt and granola for lunch. Fruits and veggies for a snack anytime i want it. And a healthy dinner (no fried foods, no heavy sauces un ess in really small portions, not a lot of pastas or potatoes), walking 30 mins every day and i'm losing about 2 pounds every week.

i say start jogging and completely stop drinking soda. also don't eat whatever is served for dinner you'll need to get on your own plan. i usually eat a rice cake for breakfast and salad for dinner & lunch. if you watch what you eat and be sure you burn (by working out) more calories than you take in, after about 2 or 3 weeks you'll see a difference.

It comes down to math! Add up the calories you eat for about a week... Weighing yourself each morning... No shoes etc.. Then make a chart... Over time you will see when the weight is level what amount of calories it takes to keep you alive! It's more of a range... +- 300 or so... Then eat 500 less calories then that...you will get cold....fingers are chilly when you don't have enough calories... It's working then... Your body is forced into using reserves... Over weeks! (It took years to gain weight!) it will start to go down... Shoot for 2 to 3 a week.... Working out helps but one large fries and you ate more than you burned! Unless you get "Buff"...than the amount of calories to stay alive will go up!
And last but not least....your not really that overweight... Try being 250.... it's harder up here!

Gaining weight can be as simple as calorie intake to calories burned. If your not yet an adult you are going to gain weight, and you will start to fill out to your adult size. You shouldn't worry about your weight too much, because stress could make you gain weight get pimples etc. So i guess just try and workout a little more do more jogging to lose some calories.

When you started exercising, you started to build muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you are gaining weight because you are firming up. Don't stop exercising because you are gaining weight, it will start to even out, you will see the difference when you start losing sizes. I just lost a lot of weight, but the best part about it is losing the sizes.

Because you're eating too much and not exercising enough.
Snack on raw fruits and vegtables and start swimming. You'll lose weight, be more toned and flexible, and just feel better about yourself.
Start swimming and eat better.
