walking is suppose to be better for ur body as a whole compared to jogging or running.... but if ur a fast walker u probly burn the same calories walking an hour and jogging a mile. for weight loss i would recomend walking one day joging the next for the time intervals u suggested or even in the same session walk 1 block jog the next then walk then jog ect. so ur body does not get use to the workout!!
