well for starters dance is an excellent way to lose weight! what is your mother thinking?!!! you can try belly dancing too ^_^ it's tons of fun! so just dance while ur in your room while cleaning or anything your doing.
and secondly, you would probably want to eat right .. as shown in the Zone food pyramid

eat 3 times a day. mostly eat more in the mornings then eat less and less though out the day .. lets say you have a big breakfast, then maybe half of that at lunch.. then at night eat a smaller portion of food... some people just eat a bit of yogurt or a watermelon but you can eat a bit more then that (i would.. lol). you don't have to cut all the sweets (thats a big mistake! cuz once u get to ur idea weight you'd say it's ok to have one... then another .. then for some "reason" your back at your original weight again.. time to start over!) so just cut back a little on the sweets .. and totally cut off the soda's.
do 15 minutes of workout each day.. 5 minutes on stretching then the rest do some exercise. and you can up the time you exercise every week if you like.

I know that this may sound stupid but if you follow this advice that my sister in law gave me, it will work wonders: 1. Only eat when you are hungary - this may sound ovious, but all too often we fall into paterns of finishing out plates, eating snacks on a schedule, and eating when watching TV etc, also when you go to the movies, take a look at what you usually order and cut it down to one snack and one drink if you arent hungry 2. Have a reason to loose the weight that means something to you. For me, it was for my husband, I knew that he loved me just as i was, but I wanted to do it for him, even if he didn't care, I had a reason to do it. 3. Remember that 3500 calories are in every pound, so if you cut like 500 calories a day, you´ll loose a pound a week without even excersizing, that´s only the calories in a single cinamon bun!! 4. Buy the low fat alternatives, as well as propel instead of other energy drinks, also buy the diet pops and the low fat cream cheese etc. 5. Do something daily like going for a walk with your lover, kids, pet, friend or anybody that will make sure you do it. This will cut calories really well and remember that it´s the small changes that really make the difference over time. These 5 steps should really help you to loose weight. It sure did to me, and at first when she told me about it, I thaught it seemed really ovious, but than when I went grocery shopping I dared to try the diet cream cheese and diet coca cola and it wasn´t as horrible Ias I thaugt it would be, than I decided to not put buter on my popcorn which I ate every night, and instead use the seasonings and In just 3 monthes, I lost 10 pounds. It doesn´t sound like much, but when I started using all the other tips, i started loosing more. So far, I weight 162 pounds, and I used to weight 230 pounds. This has been a god sent for me, it´s the first time since I was a kid that I felt comfortable to actually go shopping in a public mall, and do things like go to the waterslides, or the theme park. this was awesome because my original goal was to loose enough weight to be abvle to go on the roller cyclone ride, weighing 180 pounds, and finally I am less than thatÆ=

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Make changes gradually... when I diet, I do it secretly 'cause it helps me stay on track by not talking about it all the time. I tend to obsess if I do that.
I don't mean sneak around and starve yourself, but just do little things like cutting out soda with real sugar, and ordering salad instead of burgers if you eat fast food. Also, exercise is good... dance away!!!

Cut out junk food and sodas, eat healthy, and exercise 3-5 times a week. With the exercise, focus on cardio as it's best for weight loss.

What is your age, your hieght and current weight? If you are a teenager, or becoming one, I would seriously caution any weight loss, unless advised by a doctor. You can use the link below to get an idea what would be your suggested weight, for your hieght. Eat vegetables, fruit, protien, cut most sugar, salt and fat. Drink milk (skim). Check out the U.S.D.A.

When I was young--16, I took up roller skating for 1 hour a day. Then I cut my portions in half, and had a cup of cofee after each meal. No candy, or bread foods (cupcakes,cookies etc.) fruit instead. No pop, icecream,sugar drinks) and I used to take my cassettes in my room or radio and excercise taking breaks to music. So, get obsessed/doit!!!!!!!!I lost 40 lbs.

There are so many diets and diet plans, it makes your head spin just trying to pick one. Some work very well, if you follow their instructions, but they cost!!! People are weak. We have no Will Power! That's why we spend millions of dollars on diet plans and diet pills. The simple truth is.... burn more calories than you eat. Sensible eating habits and regular exercise. It's that simple....... really!!! You don't have to starve, but you can't be a glutton either, and you do have to exercise.

The only way to lose weight (in a good way)is eat tons of fruits and veggies balanced with aerobic exercise. If you do this, you can lose lots of weight in four months.
