Jr has said that he would really have to think long and hard about driving the #3 car and isn't sure if he ever will. And yes Joe Gibbs Racing is a good fit for Jr. he has 2 good friends there already, with Stewart and Hamlin add Jr to the mix and that would be a team to be reckoned with. They can always use JJ Yeley as the expendable car like Hendrick does with Casey Mears. Only roadblock there is that JGR has a thing against beer sponsers.

Richard Childress owns the #3 so Jr. racing it for Joe Gibbs is a long shot.

I think Jr. is going to have to do alot of soul searching before he makes any decisions about where to go next...especially to that #3 car. I'd like to see Teresa give up the #8 - it is Dale Jr.'s grand-daddy's number.

I think Dale should drive for Joe Gibbs, he would do real good and get a championship too. Dale Jr. will have to decide if he can handle the memories of his dad in that #3 car. It is real ruff right now, his dad was killed in that #3 car. If he did drive it again it would really be nice to see it, They did bring it back on the track one year at Talladega after Dale Sr. died. Hope Jr will make the right chose, he is a smart guy you know. Gooooooo Jr!!!!!!!

RCR owns the number 3, rights to, so JR isnt going to run it anywhere else without RCR selling it to him or giving him rights. I really want to see JR at Gibbs, he runs well with Tony and Denny will fit into the whole swing, would give Gordon and Jimmy a run for their money I think

If Jr wants to run his dad's famous number, which i'm not sure if he does, then it would have to be at RCR, nowhere else...numbers belong to teams, not drivers, and the 3 is with RCR, always will be. Also, NASCAR doesn't retired numbers, for the simple reason that obviously if they did, eventually there'd be no numbers left except 3 digit numbers, and so forth. Personally I hope he goes to RCR, Richard Childress would love to have him.

I would like to see him drive for Gibbs, at least for 2008. Then drive for Jr Racing!

It will be a few more years before anyone drives the #3. I believe it would be more fitting for Jr to drive it than anyone else. However I just don't think it will happen. It is too soon for that.

Smoke's popularity has dwindled over the last year or so, I still like him I think it was all a popularity thing, (did you see where Tony donated moneyt to purchase vests for police dogs with departments that could not otherwise afford them...that was a wonderful thing for him to do) .....JR has a huge following simply being an Earnhardt and Jr. was leaving a family team and many thought he was being disloyal not thinking he gave it a lot of thought and did what was best for him, still I am sure it was a difficult decision...

I think his father was close to RCR (Childress racing). But he also has the option of starting his own team, and I don't believe that he would have to scramble for any sponsors, either !
