I am a non-denominational Christian. I believe that every Christian who has a relationship with Christ is taught by Him through God's written Word, the Bible.
Christians are at different levels of learning God's wisdom and I believe that is why we see some things differently. I know that for myself, I am learning daily and have certainly come to realize that God has change my views on many things just because I know Him better.
Many times people can't let go of the fact that it is not what we do that saves us. It is what Christ did. Of course, it is what we do, that keeps us close to him and we do need teachers.
Religion is man's attempt to please God. Jesus is Gods answer for love, forgiveness and grace. Jesus is not a religion. He the personal relationship that God wants us to have. Peace.

No. If I believed that only Christians go to heaven, I would question a God that would allow Buddhists, Jew, and Islamic people to go elsewhere.
Religions are somwhat opportunistic. Catholicism comes from mixing Roman holidays and pagan holidays to the Bible and it's teachings. It was actually a great way to teach people about a singular God - people who could not read and were very ritualistic. Pure genius to take a holiday, pair it up with a Biblical holiday (Saturnalia and Christmas are when looked at separately two infinitely different kinds of celebrations) and get people believing in one God.
It would be obscene to think that your denomination has only the one right way to get to nirvana. That means only Lutherans can go to heaven. I don't believe that is what God had planned many many eons ago.

No...then again, a non denominational church probably fulfills what I'd want...the differences come from different interpretations of the Bible as well as historical reactions by the church/royal families/governments/common people. I wasn't there when Jesus lived, so I can't say I know for sure which denomination is exactly what he envisioned (if any) but I think its more a matter of following the Bible than a church.

I created my own denomination, and I go with the reasoning and explainations that make the most sense and dont contradict anything at all.
As a result, i have views that many people dont like. Especially when I discuss biblical matters.
It seemed logical to me that if I am to believe it fully, I need to understand it myself, and not try to believe what someone else tells me. So thats what i did.
And I can tell you I am much happier for it, and extremely sound in my beliefs.

good question
my denomination (Alliance) is pretty much bible based. I haven't run across anything yet that I disagree with. The leaders that we have are willing to explore the bible prayerfully and attempt to determine the will of God. Whereas in more mainstream churches, the denominational doctrine is set by their catechism.
blessings :)

So far. Everything that is taught has source authority of the Bible. No theories of man accepted. Every statement is backed up by the Bible which we looked up. At our meetings, when the speaker makes a statement of fact, he backs it up with Bible confirmation and we all turn in our Bibles to confirm. Meetings and personal study makes us quite knowledgeable.
This frees us from false religions and ridiculous beliefs so laughable as many people already do.

I do not believe any one denomination. I would not label myself Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, or any thing else. Just someone who believes in the word of God, in Jesus, and is trying to follow the main will of God. Love God with all of your heart and Love your neighbor as yourself.

A better question would appear to be: If you don't believe what your denomination teaches, why do you belong to it? What parts are OK not to believe? Why?

The church that Jesus set up is not part of any domination - I believe only what He teaches and nothing else.
