It's a very bad idea. The weight lost will be water weight - the damage to her organs and her brain cannot be undone.
I have fasted for two weeks at a time. I know it's a loathsome thing to do - you have great cause to be worried. She will destroy her natural metabolic response (tell her it causes cellulite ... ) :P

Not eating and increasing your caffiene intake is NOT a way to lose weight. Believe me i've been there, i would eat VERY sparingly for months and months. I lost weight but became very unhealthy in doing it, and when my parents and doctors noticed they put me on a healthier diet, all the weight came back and i am back at a healthy weight now. I have residual effects from starving myself, including hypoglycemia, low blood sugar, which causes me to get sick when my blood sugar goes lower than normal, for instance if im hungry or did too much exercise. And i am now constantly dizzy. There are MANY more health risks in starving yourself including but not limited to low blood pressure and heart rate, fainting, not being able to have children when you're older, and yes DEATH can result in not giving your body the proper nutrition it needs. This is NOT a way to lose weight, it may work but you can only not eat so long, and as soon as you start eating normal again the weight COMES BACK. you need to learn a healthier way of eating, cut out junk food, sugar and white flour will make you lose an extraordinary amount of weight, add a little exercise to your day you WILL see results and this is a lifestyle you can STICK with. Annorexia eventually catches up to you and bulemia is NOT an option either, its disgusting and you will not lose any weight, only ruin your teeth and esphogus. Pick a healthy diet and stick to it, theres no reason in the world to starve yourself, even to look good, the risks out weigh any dress or mini skirt that you will look good in skinnier. Pleaseeee don't resort to annorexia, ive been there and it isn't any fun, the mood swings and anger is unbearable.

I recently did a fast for 30 days for detox reasons. Lost 25 lbs, then gained it back.
Fasts are not for losing weight and I do NOT recommend to anyone to try them without doing a very serious research on the topic.
Not consuming any food only drinking tea and coffee obviously very unhealthy and dangerous. Try to explain it to her.
But I guess if she's very determined, she won't listen anyway. It's ok, 3 days and she'll be starving so badly that she'll give up!

There's nothing wrong with drinking green tea to supplement a diet. BUT if she does not eat daily, and get at least 2000 calories (GOOD calories. Not calories coming from saturated or trans fat) in her system, she will be in danger of a severely low blood sugar level which can and WILL cause black outs and if low enough, a coma. She can eat healthy if she's concerned about her weight. Fruits, veggies, salad, soup, yogurt. As long as she eats something.
In the long run, she will end up completely screwing up her metabolism, and she wont loose anything.

ok if they want to lose weight and not eat, they should go on the lemon drink diet. It cleans out your system while helping you lose weight. It is very healthy to do this bc of the fact that it cleans ur system . . . .doctors have proven that its healthy but drinking coffe and tea are definately not healthy!! I did the leamon diet thing and lost about 2 llbs a day! Meaning 14 a week . . .but u have to drink it like all day . . .look it up online and it will tell u the ingredients

There is nothing wrong with drinking lots to help suppress your appetitite, as long as your friend is still eating enough calories per day. On another note, drinking excessive amounts of caffeine isn't good you either. Encourage her to drink caffeine free teas and lots of waters to keep her full.

I know someone who does that often, and it never helps them to lose weight that 'stays' off. As soon as they start back up eating again, they gain more than they had before. It is NOT a healthy lifestyle and actually messes with your metabolism. It is best to find a way to eat low-fat, low-sugar and stick to it... make it a 'lifestyle' not a 'diet'. Best of luck to you and your friend.

You will lose weight, but, you can eat vegetables for roughage. You will need some carbs or you will get sick. The equivalent of a 3 slices of bread, I think is the least. You will quit craving sugar after 3 days. You can eat as much protein as you want. I believe its the Atkins diet.

yes it is indeed definitely something to worry about...tell her to eat healthy and atleast take vitamins!!! she can exercise to keep the weight off but if she does what she is doing now then she will lose a bit weight at first but then regain it all after she starts eating... so it is better to eat healthy first and then exercise and don't forget vitamins and lots of water...
