I don't like the bride and I don't like the way she treats the groom. She even crashed his bachelor party! Is it awful not to go or do I have a right to chose to go or not?

No, of course you don't have to go. And no, you don't have to send a gift, either. If you think there could be drama over you not being there, RSVP that you aren't available that day and follow up with a card.

Ha! When I saw this question, my first thought was "who wants to attend ANY briday shower??"

If you don't like her, send a small gift and make up an excuse as to why you cannot go. Why were you invited anyway? I don't blame her for crashing the bachelor party - do you know what really happens at those parties? Probably 90% of men cannot be trusted at those parties - every guy has a friend who's going to try and get a girl to suc* the groom-to-be's d*ck when the groom-to-be is so drunk he's about to pass out.

Wait, probably 90% of men cannot be trusted in general.....

People don't like it when someone tells it like it really is, obviously!

Well your post pretty much sums up that you don't like the lady, so no I'd make an excuse not to go.

This may cause problems for you, so make sure your excuse is good and can be checked out without making it obvious.

You could send her a card, with a cash donation if you want to, but that's not required. If you're sent a wedding invitation, the way you feel, I 'd send my regrets to that too.

Last I heard, this is still America and you have the right to chose. I say, don't go, and plan doing something else.

It's only an invitation. You can deny. No one is forcing you to attend. If you don't want to go, simply deny the invitation ;)

Of course you have the right to abstain. Give a reason though like I am not free that day.

It is absolutely your choice. I would never attend a shower for someone I did not like.

Just RSVP and state that you cannot attend.

Act like you're sick and like you couldn't go even if you wanted to.
