I have psoriasis and I use Equate (Wal-Mart brand) scrub with salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a common acne treatment and would probably help with the eczema. It is very inexpensive and I find it works pretty well. You should try it.

There are many possibilites which you stated in your question. A lot of babies at that age have baby acne that will just go away over time. If that is not it, talk to your doctor about it. Explain your reasons for thinking it is eczema or a food allergy. They will help you out after that and may prescribe a cream to put on your baby. My friends baby ended up being an allergy to egg (while she was only breastfed). They found out later when she was old enough to eat egg that she was severely allergic. Her mother loved eggs and ate them quite often. She was getting an allergic reaction through the breast milk. They thought is was eczema too. Good luck!!!

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Try a detox. A lot of skin problems are caused by internal conditions. Go on the Internet if find an herbal detox, they are usually gentle. When detoxing you may break out worst for a few days, but then you have have clear skin.

I suffered from the same problem for years until I went to a health shop one day and she advised that I take 3000mg of Evening Primrose Oil daily. I now swear by it.
Try it! My skin is so different now.

I do not have an answer for your questions, but my daughter has the same problem. We have been able to keep it under control with a gel called Differin, its prescribed by a dermatologist.
