I'm playing around with the idea of getting a tattoo done soon, and would like to know what "music is power" is in Latin...

Musica XXX est.

There's one primary word (musica) for music, but there are several ways to say 'power', depending on the type of power. In place of the X's, you could use:

Virtus (or Vis) - Power in the sense of strength
Potestas - Power in the sense of rule, control
Ops - Power in the sense of influence
Potentia - Power in the sense of force or political power.

In any case, the verb (est) should be last.

Musica est potentia.

Not particularly inspiring if you ask me, but it's your tattoo. Just remember, it'll be with you for life, so pick a good place on your body, and get a good artist.
