I want to go on a 3 day fast just to clean out my body. I've been eating a lot of junk food and I just feel gross. I have an herbal de-tox tea that I'm going to drink, and of course lots of water, but is there anything else I should know/consider before I start this. I'll also be taking vitamins. Will this plan help me?
What are some plans for fasting that you've heard of or done before? Did they work?

When I was in Medical Weight Loss, they put me on a "cleansing" diet for three days.
Basically it was this. Drink nothing but water, eat as much green leafy vegetables you can, one half of an orange, and as much red meat as you want.
I know the red meat part might sound strange, but it completely cleans out all the carbohydrates and sugars in your body. It pretty much drove me nuts because I hate red meat, but in three days I had lost a good deal of weight from excess sugars and retained water.

Fasting is not the solution. It can end up making you very sick and weak. You need a good mix of calories, protiens, fruits, and veggies, and lots of water. Radical changes are so not good for you, eat healthy, eat smaller portions more frequently, and drink plenty of water. Reverse bad effects by just changing to a better diet, dont do all this whacked stuff.

Only do this is you are basically healthy and don't have any other problems or on any meds. This can be dangerous for those that do have other health problems. If you just drink plenty of water, herbal teas, clear broths. I wouldn't do this any longer than 3 days though.

You should be fine. We have a 30 Day fast in Islam, and the ony thing that should happen is a small spike, maybe half a pound, in your weight. You'll be fine. However, make sure that you do have at least one meal a day, and make it healthy, with all your vitamins and minerals for the next day.

Yes, it can be dangerous if you don't eat. You will likely pass out. Try eating only veggies for three days along with your tea and water. Especially the dark leafy ones because they are full of antioxidants. Also,fruit like blueberries and strawberries.

I am a certified fitness trainer. If you are looking to gain weght you should first have a body composition test done to determine what percentage of your body is fat. You need to lift weights to build muscle and eat the right amount of protein at the right times of day to do so. Lean protein - chicken, turkey, pork tenderloin, tofu, etc.

Go ask your doctor. I don't think you should fast though when your done you will eat a bunch and fasting lowers your metabolism.

try putting a lot of fructose into your system it should balence out in a couple of hours and you will feel a lot better
