I'm seconding kacky. that's not their job, and it's a heavy burden on a child to be born with the hopes that he'll 'heal you'.
Some people are lucky and when their child is born they manage to pull themselves up out of the mud and heal themselves to provide more and better for their child. Some people don't and what they do is perpetuate the cycle of needing healed.
Hindsight being 20/20, I wished I'd healed before children. thank God that through them I was able to face all my issues without scarring them too much ;-)

Children make you a better person. You become much less selfish and a lot more giving. I would lay down my life for my little girl.

No matter how stressed I may be seeing the sweet little smile on my daughter's face instantly melts the stress away.

I've been feeling better mentally (suicidal less often, etc) since I've gotten pregnant, but I think it's got more to do with dropping out of college than with the baby, although I'm not sure. Unexpected side effect anyway.

Don't have kids hoping they'll heal you... it's nice if it happens to work, but I bet that more often than not it doesn't, just like with having kids to fix your marriage... that tends to not work either.

That's one of the worst reasons to have a child. What a responsibility to put on a baby!

ERHH.. no.
Children will, however, bring up issues you may want to look at in yourself and give you an opportunity to heal yourself.

No. Do not have a child with the hope that that child will make you better.
