You can have ANY career with a degree in mechanical engineering.
A degree in engineering basically stamps you as a sharp, analytical problem solver. Assuming you're still young, a lot of general purpose firms like to hire someone with that degree to mold into an asset.
If you really want to do the engineering track, you can work in the older industries such as manufacturing and machinery, or in the newer practices of fluid/stress modelling and CAD.
If you don't want to do engineering, get some relevant internships in college (whether its in business, real estate, consulting, finance, whatever you like), get a high GPA, and ALL DOORS WILL OPEN FOR YOU.
ps-been down both paths, so I kinda know what I'm talking about (engineer for 1 year, then switched to finance)

Mec. Eng is the broadest based of the engineering courses. My son has a 1st in Mech. Engineering and worked temporarily as a Mechanical engineer yet has for the final seven years been working in electric engineering.he's now a primary Line Engineer with the national Grid which he loves and there's a huge scarcity of electric engineers worldwide. He has various friends who're all Mechanical Engineers and all have super jobs.there's a scarcity of engineers extra often than no longer so extremely get your degree in what you easily need to try this's civil.it is substantial to savour what you paintings as and you for sure lean in direction of civil.
