I'm a 22-year old male, 6 2", 176 lbs. I started working out just few days ago (Including press-ups, sit-ups, exercise bike, and muscle workouts on my Home Gym: All takes around 2 hours). I have bough a protein formula that's supposed to help protein anabolism in my muscles (And it also says that it's a weight gainer). But my main goal is not to put more weight, since I believe it's good (I used the body mass index to measure it). So, would taking the protein formula cause me to gain weight, or help in my workout? (I heard that if you take it without workout it'll cause significant weight gain).

And I also have a question about abs: Which is better to do: Sit-ups or crunches? I always hear people talk about crunches...So what're they? How are they done? (Any links to pictures or videos showing how are much appreciated)
