All major religions contain positive evolutionary traits brought forward as folk knowledge from prior times. If it supports your survival and happiness then it is the right religion. As religions base their beliefs upon historically fixed ideas that are immutable, they cannot learn beyond a certain point and so are inferior to a system based upon evidence and empirical knowledge. Still, they are important because they protect the species. Certain ones, such as Samaritanism or Zoarastrianism could be argued as inferior since they are dying off. Likewise, wicca could be aruged as inferior since it only supports a single temperament well, as did 19th century Spiritualism.

If it supports your happiness and survival then it is the right religion. If its claims are factually false then it really doesn't matter if it is true or fale if it makes you better off. The truth of a religion is intellectually important, and if it endangers the survival of part of the species then it is important, such as ideas such as jihad. Otherwise, for most people it simply doesn't matter.

I was once a Christian, but now I'm an agnostic.

Having said that, I still wish more people would give some credit to Christianity. There are several arguments that strongly favor the validity and credibility of the Bible.

All said and done, I believe the scales of evidence are highly favored in the direction of secularism, but this is no reason to dismiss the Bible so quickly.

Research the destruction prophecies of the Bible, and maybe you'll see what I'm talking about. (Remember, I'm an agnostic.) Don't be fooled by the quick, angry explanations used by most secularists today!

"Ideologies separate us. Dreams and anguish bring us together."

I personally chose to be a Christian, but I don't go around telling everyone that it is the "right" religion or not. (And I don't go telling them that their choices are wrong either).

I see religion (or beliefs, etc).. as a personal choice. What is right to one person is not going to be right to another. Christians of course will want to say that they are the only right ones.. Muslims will possibly want to say that they got it right.. Buddhists will want to tell people that they know the way.. Atheists will want to tell you that not believing is the only choice. Etc Etc.

I personally chose a belief system, but in no way do I think that those that chose any other belief system are "wrong" or should come and choose mine instead. People are free to do and choose and believe what they want and that is the way it should be.

All in all, I don't believe that there is any one "religion" out there as we know them that has it "all right" at this moment. Each one probably has areas that are correct and areas that are not.. Even Christianity .. I mean, look at the multiple denominations that can't even agree on what is right or not..

So, yah.. :)

The answer is different for everyone. personally, I was raised Methodist, but i do not consider myself Christian. However I do believe in something, so I am not atheist. I do not try to explain what i cannot understand, which is basically what all religion is--preaching about information that is mostly not factual. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind religion, I think that everyone does what they think is right, so all power to 'em.

However, historically, most of the Christian world was forced to be Christian. So I don't know if everyone who is Christian is Christian because they truly believe in everything they are taught. Honestly, I think in most situations religion is adopted by a person because of the society they are brought up in, not because of personal beliefs.

I am not religious, but I am spiritual. I do not take sides. However I am cautious to accept religions which preach that it is God's will to kill all who refuse to adopt your beliefs--like Islam, and historically Christianity as well.
And I am quick to accept people who believe it is the word of Jesus Christ to help others.
Really, I don't care if it's true or not, so if that's what you believe and you're going out of your way to help another because of it, I'm not going to stand in your way.
If your religion tells you to help others before yourself and be respectful and accepting, it's good with me.

I admit i do not know much about world religion, but I know about people, and what religion does to their lives.

I have many reasons for not conforming myself into one religion--including the fact that I lost my faith in Christianity, for reasons still not quite known to me. I strongly believe that a person does not have to be Christian, or whatever other religion, to be a wonderful, kind, caring, deeply spiritual person. And ironic as it is to some, some of the most cruel, hateful people I have ever met are strong Christian, and some of the most kind, friendly, loving people I have ever met are atheist.
I am still open-minded. So i'll just sit back and try to relax-- and wait for the truth.

There is no right or wrong religion. It's just someones opinion. You have to research all thoughts on religion and pick the one that suits you best, including atheism and agnosticism.

Everyone is going to say their own, but I think that, if I'm answering this honestly, it's not necessarily mine for anyone.

It's what I like (atheist Satanist), but it doesn't mean it's right for others. To each his or her own.

It depends on the individual. However, I'd be more partial to philosophies, more than actual religions, and Buddhism looks sweet.

I think that you have to ask yourself that question. Its all about what you believe. If you study a lot of the religions and beliefs out there they all are about the same if you break them down. Muslims worship one god christians, jews, catholics, buddahs, its all the same in the big picture. Worshiping one main god and doing good in life. its all the fine print that you have to decided. Like some jews don't believe in jesus. and muslims don't believe in god but in Allah another god. Everyone thinks that their religion is the right one and everyone elses is wrong. who knows......

You know that everyone who has a religion is going to tell you that their religion is the right one. Otherwise they wouldn't be following it.

I think that a person looking for religion should really look into and see what is right for them.
