Undoubtedly, and now that people can have a voice of their own with the aid of the internet i would say honesty will make religion obsolete within a generation or maybe two.

once the mysteries of the world have been explained through science and people are educated about them, there will not be a need for religion, since religion was born through a need to understand the unexplainable things in life.

Not so much honesty as truth. Many people are "honest" in their faith, but truth and facts are what prove religion to be false.
