I think it is used as:

!Que linda! and basically means "How charming!" or "How cute!" when you see something really cute. You can use it to describe a pretty girl, or a kitten, or a child doing something funny... depending on your inflection, it's kind of a catch-all for anything charming.

I don't speak Spanish, but my cousin was saying it a lot when she came back from South America.

Linda means cute, though it could pass as meaning pretty or beautiful (basically anything attractive). Bonita is pretty and hermosa is beautiful, if you wanna get technical. ;)
