Why couldn't he stay at DEI and help the situation instead of being so ungrateful to his father and stepmother. No one ever said the company was his for the taking--it was only a place built so he could race

No, but you are the only one who wastes time thinking about it.

I'm not real sure if Jr is making the right move or not. He does show that it bothers him tremendously about not being competitive and winning more races or even having a real shot at the championship. However, I do not feel that he is being ungrateful to his fathers memory or his stepmother. Also unlike many people who feel DEI was Jr's for the taking, I disagree. Jr has other siblings who also are entitled to a portion of DEI right alongside of Theresa, who was Sr's wife and partner. I do applaud Dale Jr for making this hard decision of parting ways with the company because it will take so many burdens off his shoulders and now has no excuse not to focus solely on his driving so he can WIN.

Are you the only one that thinks Jr is making a poor decision by leaving DEI?...It doesn't look that way. But you may not be the only one with a misguided perception of the business of racing on that level. This was not a "cookie cutter" decision. He and his sister have labored over this issue for more than just the 2007 season. Teresa has more responsibility than sense when it comes to the administration of the business. She has made some poor choices and it shows. She is refusing to listen to reason. DEI will continue business as usual and she will continue to have more revenue than she can count. She will not continue making the millions off of her stepson who she so adamantly despises out of putrid jealousy. Now Jr and his sister can eruditely take on the world and reel in the revenues from more fans than all the other drivers combined. If for no other reason, Jr made the RIGHT decision for his future as a driver looking to be a true competitor and a real contender for the championship. As now he will have enough control to put the necessary resources where they need to be. DEI has had multiple engine failures this season already...why? They used to make one of the best. Poor management is where the buck stops. Or in this case where the buck stops going.

No doubt Jr has all the support he needs. He just needs to consider his options and decide which fit his goals the best.

Race On Brother.

As for your remark regarding Jr being ungrateful...This is not an issue of gratefulness, it is business. They rhyme so it sounds the same but it is not. It is totaly irrelevant and uncalled for.

Ungrateful?? Dale Sr. would not even drive for Teresa, he chose to stay with RCR. Jr has done the right thing for himself. If he does not make this move he might end up like Kyle Petty, just a shadow of what his father was. He has to take this chance to prove, to no one else but himself, whether he is capable of winning a Championship or not.

He had not control over the running of DEI. If they do not provide winning cars he has to look for a place that does.

Maybe you should get your facts straight. it is a known fact that Dale Sr build this company for his children AND so that they will one day take it over in ownership and run it themselves. Teresa is the one that has made it so hard since her husband passed away. She is interrupting the dreams and wishes her husband had for that company and it's purpose and distroying it, which is what she just did. This didn't happen overnight, this has been going on for a few years now, so i think Jr has done all he can do, the one you should be questioning is Teresa. he isn't being ungrateful, he's only doing what he knows is right.

I think it will be interesting to see how many DEI employees will be leaving with Jr......a vast majority of the ppl workin their are Earnhardt family...by blood!

No, I don't think it was a wrong move. The one thing I have noticed about Jr. is his maturity. He seems to know what he wants and how to get it. A few years back I wouldn't have said that. I think his Dad would be very proud of him. He went after what he wanted even though he didn't get it. The company is not going the way his dad or he would like. I think if this makes him happy then he's made the right choice. If he stayed and was unhappy no one would benefit. I am a #24 fan, but with that said I wish Jr. all the best in what ever decision he makes. (His Happiness is the Key)!

You might be the only one, but he wasnt able to make changes, Teresa had control over the entire operation. Jr only was a driver he wasn't anything else there. Teresa hasn't done anything good for the organization she doesnt even show up to the track 90% of the time. He was never even able to help the situation because Teresa and other higher ups wouldnt allow it, even during the contract negotiations Teresa didnt talk she had somebody else do it for her.

As for the company was his for the taking. In a interview Sr. said he built the company for his kids......and uh....none of them have any say in it. Considering it was Jr leaving or paying 51 million to get control of DEI so it can compete again. You can easily see why he left

Well, I see it in a slightly different way. His father built DEI, but Jr. carries it on. I think his stepmother should be the one to compromise.

Didn't Dale Sr. start the company FOR his children? Also with the inability for DEI to keep up with competition, why would Jr. stay? Face it, Jr. won't win anything with DEI, so he did the smart thing and got out!

nicely, it is particularly obtrusive he made the wonderful technical selection. what share blown engines has he had this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days? what share suitable 10's? what share DNF's? Hendrick's have been given the money and the kit. each and every group has an off 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, particularly after an extremely sturdy one. success of the draw, i assume. of direction I hated to confirm him pass away DEI for many reasons. yet for sure Teresa did no longer have the money or did no longer desire to spend it on Jr. And the certainty that she does no longer evaluate fifty one% possession of his very own father's empire speaks volumes. How could you desire to come again to paintings in that ecosystem daily? He specific looks happier.

I think Dale Sr. would have like to see his Son be happy and win Championships, follow in his footsteps. Dale Jr. leaving DEI is very bad for them, but for Dale Jrs. happiness and a chance to become one of the greatest, I think its the right move.
