Very impressive! Krell and Martin Logan are very nice components. Component wise, I would also look at Carey (Great reviews), Anthem and Arcam in that price range. Speaker wise Martin is a great line. I am a big fan of Revel and Dynaudio for speakers. Since you are spending allot of money on a dream system, why not kick the tires on some other brands.
CD players: The Arcam FMJ CD36 CD player for Sony Transport and Rega Saturn are very good units.
I dont have close to that kind of system, working on upgrading to some more Arcam later this year.
Good listening!

Hi Pan. The amp/speaker you picked is certainly high end audio. But to give you my opinion i would have to know more.Have you actually heard the combination demonstrated.Do you want electrostatic speakers for sure.Other amps can match the Krells for a lot less money .They probably do go together but it's best to find out.How big is your listening room and how loud would you want the sound to be.There are some good turntables available now as a lot more people are listening to their records which sound musically better than CD.Do you want a quality turntable with arm and cartridge or separate components.Do your records need cleaning .Over the years they do accumulate dust, mould etc.So some type of cleaner is needed before you use them with new equipment. If you could give us some more info.i can help you more.If you want to spend that money on hi fidelity stereo equipment don't let anyone convince you otherwise .It is your choice and your money.
Meridian from Great Britain make really superb CD players you might like to check out.Cheers

Pan: If you want to spend $20K on a STEREO SET-UP, you'll get plenty of professional help, on-site, for no extra charge, unless you live 100 miles from no where. Go to a quality stereo/home theater shop and discuss your desires about a system.
For that amount of money, as a part of a consultation on assessing your audio wants and needs, someone should visit your home to see room size and assess how acoustically "live" the room is, for speaker type and placement, power requirements, etc. Until then, you really can't get much more than someone's guess! For that amount of money, get it right!

While the specs for these components are impressive, 50% of what your paying for is a brand name.
With some technical knowledge and research you could spend 1/3 of the cost for this equipment, with today's technology, audio is simplistic electronic circuitry, research professional audio equipment instead of home audiophile, you will find greater dynamics, frequency ranges and hardware longevity, but perhaps not the artistic design!
Sorry but $20K for a , stereo system, I have a 16 component, DSP enhanced system in a air cooled lighted rack with a wireless touchscreen remote, that is stereo tri-amped and outputs the full 20HZ -20KHZ frequency range @ 4,500watts RMS... The whole system was $3,300

why even get a phonograph
just go with a high end cd player or multicd changer
that can play video as well.
most cd players have the phono outputs
since I don't see any digital inputs on your amp
or pre-amp
that would be the way to go
need help just ask
I always wanted a set of speakers like those
since I heard what they sound like as they are great
