there will always be disease, viral and bacterial mutation pretty much guarantees it.

There probably will be a cure for cancer in the near future. There are already lots of disease some that are curable some that aren't. There might be another disease that will replace it but no one will never know until it happens. All we can do is hope for the best!

Personally I do not think it is so much that another disease will replace Cancer but that we may become more aware of another disease. Every time in the past when they found a cure for a disease it is not so much that one took their place but more one steped up into the spotlight......
As far as new and more dangerous disease? For sure we will have to deal with them sooner or later but it will more than likely have nothing to do with having found a cure for cancer.

Cancer is different from most diseases.
When talking about diseases, most people think of contageous diseases like AIDS, smallpox, polio, etc. spread by viruses or bacteria. These pathogenic diseases attack and destroy the bodies cells.
Some diseases are caused by parasites like fungi, protozoa, etc.
Most genetic diseases are caused by inherited genetic mutations. All cells in the body have the same mutation(s).
Cancer is a group of genetic diseases too. The difference is the mutations starting from one cell occur during a person's lifetime. In addition, the symptom common to all cancers is the uncontrolled growth of cells. Cancer starts from one of the bodies own cells gone haywire not, invaded by a foreign pathogen.
My point:
1. Cancer is a description of hundreds perhaps thousands of separate diseases each defined by the specific set of genetic mutations and the cell type affected. So, one cure for all probably will not exist.
2. There are so many external factors that may cause diseases. Many we have not even been exposed to (space based, jungle, deep ocean, etc.)
In addition, there are probably about 200 or so proto-oncogenes in each cell. Multiply that by the number of cell types. You'll understand there are billions of possibilities for things to go wrong.
3. The world (our environment, diet, lifestyles, etc.) is always changing. Humans are evolving with these changes introducing more possibilities for disease. We mutate, pathogens mutate, etc. Change is constant. Nothing is static.
Theory: If humans ever can understand and manipulate the genome on a cell basis for any cell in the body, we can cure/cause any disease or condition.

U damn right, something will be in place of it. I wonder why they keep doing these things, making viruses in lab and then sending it out to kill people, then try to find a cure for it. Does that make sense?
I believe that alot of these viruses were made in the lab, as with HIV/AIDS. Then they took it to africa to test it on black people, instead of on their own and then act like they have no clue where the hell such a thing come from. Im sure if they are to find a cure the pure people wouldn't even be able to afford it, it wold cost them an arm and a leg (not literally), but it would be very expensive, I think its unfair that they get away with all these things. All they do is come on TV and say ohh mostly black people have HIV/AIDS.
Of course it would be them, because its the black people they test their S*%#T on, then they make it seems like they care for them to get better by putting on all this benefit concert bulls%#t.

my belief is if we keep fighting againstt mother nature, mother nature will keep fighting agains us. Years ago you never heard of some of the diseases we have now. I think in our life time we'll hear of new diseases. I think we'll fine a cure for aids and cancer but theres at lots worse to come our way.

There are two things certain in life DEATH and TAXES. If people don't die of cancer anymore the rate of death for other diseases will rise. In particular, the number of patients with Alzheimer's Disease is skyrocketing as fewer people die from heart attacks and strokes.

no i dont think so, I believe cancer is in all of us and there is something that triggers it. New disease? maybe one day, one brain box discovers it...
