We are a small business looking at upgrading and its pretty pricey so we want to know without buying it, and I can't find it anywhere on line.

Well, you can buy individual retail packages that will allow installation on a single machine per package. Rather a pricey way to do it. You can also purchase license packages from MS, or through retailers like CDW.
I listed MS's volume licensing page below for a good starting place.
Also, MS doesn't do site licensing. Only on a per machine basis. And you definitely DO NOT want to install it on more machines than you're licensed for, despite what someone before me said. If you did get audited, it'd cost way more than you'd ever save.

It all depends on how many licenses you buy for it. Technically, it should only be installed on the number of computers you've bought a license for.

Ex.- If you bought MS Office Pro 2007 with 3 licenses, you can install it on 3 computers, but there's nothing stoping you from installing it on more computers. The only problem is that if the company is big enough and Microsoft decides to do an audit, you could be fined for having it installed on computers that weren't licensed to have the product on it.

Honestly, if you have a SMALL business and want to install it on more PCs, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

According to this source, you can put it on two computers.

MS Office 2007 – should I upgrade? Features?

Breezing through the options, our fastest installation of Microsoft Office Standard 2007 took no more than 20 minutes on a Windows XP computer. However, settle into your chair if you're curious about the fine print. We spent 40 minutes just skimming the 10,379-word End User License Agreement and stopped before we could understand it all. Here are some of the highlights: YOU'RE ALLOWED TO INSTALL OFFICE 2007 SOFTWARE ON TWO COMPUTERS; you must agree to download updates whenever Microsoft decides you need them; and Microsoft may verify your license key at any time to make sure that you're not using pirated software. We wished that Microsoft better explained the Internet-based services Office 2007 can connect to.

Should you upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007? It depends on how you work. If you're style-conscious and want to play with new document templates, then Office 2007 should please you. Outlook outshines its predecessors if you need to lean on it daily to manage meetings and tasks. At the same time, if you already use few of the features of Office 2003 or earlier and are getting along well, then there's little need to spend hundreds of dollars on the new software.

The radical new interface of Office 2007 applications is here to stay, and it's likely to spawn some copycats. For a software package with so many layers of features, it makes sense to cluster functions within icons and tabs rather than a hodgepodge of menu boxes. At the same time, we think that some users will find the dynamic tabs and galleries more distracting than useful. We anticipate that some makers of rival Office software will capitalize on Office 2007's steep learning curve and try to attract users with the relative simplicity of applications with pull-down menu interfaces that look and feel more like Office 2003 and earlier.

Because Microsoft has opened some of the Office 2007 source code to developers, prepare to see all sorts of add-ins, such as additional interface tabs, from third party developers. At this point, however, Microsoft hasn't created a gallery on its Web site to help you find such extras. Office 2007 doesn't approach the simplicity of upstart, Web-based alternatives, but it better serves up myriad features, and it's much less bloated than in the past.

Try using the Microsoft Product Licensing Advisor. You can get guidance on product selection and licensing or you can outright choose the products and licensing setup.

If you purchased a retail CD for MS Office Professional 2007, it likely is licensed for a single system. Installing on multiple PCs probably won't even work with product activation and is definitely illegal (not a situation you want to put a company in).

Hello

legally you can only use one copy of the application version on one system at anyone time time.

I suggest you contact Microsoft concerning information for a multi user or site contract agreement , which will then allow you to install the software legally on a number of machines.

Multi user contact in your case would seem to be the best approach.

Little known clause -- Microsoft allows you to legally install and activate twice. Intention is to install once on your desktop at your office, and the 2nd installation is meant for your use on a portable computer.

Remember, that if you purchase a volume licensed version (starts at 5 licenses), you don't have to activate the software...
