Can anyone tell me what the perspex sheet on a sunbed canopy is actually for. I accidently cracked mine and now have a significant hole which has left two tubes partically exposed. Is it still safe to use? (I know no sunbed is safe but you get the idea). Thanks

u will probably need to replace it, as now the acrylic will be weaker & could possibly continue cracking...this could particularly be dangerous if it`s the acrylic on the bottom, that u lay on...

the perspex sheet helps to reflect a certain percentage of the harmful rays created by the tubes. If it has a crack or hole, i would get it repaired before you do yourself any more harm!!!!!!

I think its to protect you from the glare of the tubes, but not too sure.

it filters the rays, also it protects you from the tubes coz they get really really hot!
