"I don't think you can argue people into the Kingdom of Heaven," Comfort said. "It's a moral issue. People love their sins and they're going to hold onto them. But we're talking about eternity and it's not to be trifled at."

I love how despite the prison population ratio highly favoring atheists, these religious nuts think somehow one must follow an organized religion to be moral.

His argument only works by assuming people are in active rebellion against a God they believe in. But this isn't the case for 99.99% of non-christians.

So THAT'S where that was taken from. Mister Banana himself. I should have known. What we need is actor Alan Thicke from "Growing Pains" to come in to the studio, wave an index finger at Kirk Cameron and say "Now, Michael, that's a bad thing you're doing. You're grounded. And no bananas and crockoducks until you've passed biology class!"

There in his quote lies the entire problem with religion. The sense of some kind of moral superiority simply because they worship a fairie tale, a con, a fictional character. Religion does not give someone morals or ethics, most of the most immoral and unethical acts ever committed were done so in the name of some god or another.

Comfort and Cameron's whole argument, or lack of, was pathetic. It will forever be known as a "Crock of Crocoduck."

I generally try to avoid disparaging my neighbors of faith, but you'd really have to be stupid--or at the very least stubborn to a fault--to buy into the kind of nonsense they spewed last night. Listening to the Christian team's arguments reminded me of an old Peanuts comic strip in which Lucy insists that snow doesn't come down from the sky but "comes up from the ground." And when Charlie Brown described snowflakes as having "little tiny points," Lucy laughed in his face.

Loving darkness is what keeps people out of heaven. The bible says that because men's deeds were evil they loved darkness more than light. Believing in Jesus Christ who is the light of the world is the only way to our heavenly Father.

Oh, by the way, Christianity isn't an organized religion, it's anything but.

Based on what you posted I would say that the guy was refering to the moral issue of people loving sin and themselves more than God and His commandments.

Ray Comfort saying something stupid? No Way!!!

Seriously though, these guys are just so blind and ignorant that nothing can convince them. As an atheist we can always adjust our opinions when that facts change. Theists will stick to their myths no matter how much evidence proves them to be willfully ignorant fools.

Since when did people, especially so-called religious leaders start deciding who goes to heaven and who doesn't.

Why do we start representing God.

Being moral doesn't get you into heaven.
