what are they going to do, take a survey?
Priest: If you support Abortion, please raise your hand and you'll be promplty excommunicated.
[no one raises their hand]
Priest: ok, then...back to my boring-*** sermon.

Where does the Bible state that? I've read the verse..."in the womb I knew you!"
Also: "If men strive, and hurt a women with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life" (Ex.21:22-23).
Also check out: Job 31:15 and Psalms 22:9-10 and Psalms 139:13-16 and Isaiah 44:2 and Isaiah 44:24
There is plenty of biblical backing that abortion is against God...it is murder. Anyone who willfully and purposefully murders, or causes the murder, or even supports the murder of another human being should be excommunicated and should not receive the sacraments!

"Excommunication" is given by the Bishop of the Papal State. The Pope is Bishop of Rome. Yes, the Pope says that abortion is moving us away from God. It is in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
The Bible tells us that God knew us before we're born Check out: Jer 1:5, Job 10:8, Ps 22: 10-11, Ps 139:15, Drrr --- It's written right there!!! --- Ha-Ha-Ha --- You're out of it major ---- Ha-Haaaa

+ Abortion +
Catholics believe that from the moment of conception until natural death, each human being is endowed by God with dignity and rights.
You shall not kill. (Ex 20:13; cf. Deut 5:17)
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. (Jer 1:5; cf. Job 10:8-12; Ps 22:10-11)
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. (Ps 139:15)
Early Church writings: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. (Didache 2, 2: SCh 248, 148; cf. Ep. Barnabae 19, 5: PG 2, 777; Ad Diognetum 5, 6: PG 2, 1173; Tertullian, Apol. 9: PL 1, 319-320)
+ Politicians +
Someone can be a misguided Catholic and “pro-choice.”
This is especially harmful when they are people of influence like politicians, who because of their influence may unduly direct others toward "the culture of death" instead of the "consistent ethic of life."
The Church law involved is Canon 915: Those who are excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' statement "Catholics in Political Life" says:
Therefore, like every Catholic generation before us, we must be guided by the words of St. Paul, “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord” (1 Cor 11:27).
And continues that it is up to each Bishop in their diocese and on a case by case basis to decide whether or not to deny Holy Communion to Catholic politicians because of their public support of abortion.

The pope actually isn't excommunicating anyone. That's the job of the bishop of that church, and since they aren't issuing excommunication the pope won't either he just expects them to not participate in the communion.

Did you read the part in the Bible where it says "I knew you when you were knit together in your mother's womb"?
Thats sounds like -"before delivery" to me.
I think you may have missed your bus.

If you ACTUALLY read the Bible you would read that the Lord knit YOU in your Mother's womb and he knew YOU before YOU were born. How can he know YOU, if you were not YOU?

How smug and bloody selfish of people such as yourself who were allowed the gift of life but deny it to others, birthing and the moment of life are not the same thing.
