i am not a doctor, so i can not say for sure, but your friend needs help, its a great thing that you were there for her that night, but she has deep issues, its obvious that she needs to see someone to find out about them. tell her that you think it is for the best because if she dies then she is leaving you, and you do not want to lose her! be there for he, she is suffering from something right now. help her, call a dr, or her parents an let her get professional help.

What's wrong with her? She's got some really crummy friends - including you. Anyone who lets their friends drink to excess is no sort of friend. When someone has a history of alcohol abuse (as you say she does), then there is no friendship in encouraging her to do it again. Not even if you're willing to stay sober & take care of her. Darned straight you'd better take care of her - because you encouraged her to get this way...Don't expect her to thank you if she lives long enough to sober up!

I'm not afraid of death as I too believe the soul goes to a better place. I am a bit afraid of the dying process... will it be tragic, will it be a long, painful process, will I be a burden to those responsible for my care, will my dignity be maintained... those kinds of things

If she thought this only because she was drunk then she needs help for her drinking (she needs this anyway) but if she feels this way all the time it could be a symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which is an anxiety disorder. Either way she really needs help and you can't let her do this to herself if she is your friend.

She shouldn't drink thats whats wrong with her...
Some people when they drink flip out, and she seems like she did, she really should consider staying away from drinking all together...
and if thats not the case then she definetly has mental problems and should go and see a doctor straight away!!!

It sounds like she needs mental help and needs to stay away from drinks. I would take her to a hospital mostly because she is runing her body and she is acting stupid. Just be her friend. Also she wil only die if God will allow it and wants her 2.

It seems that u are obviously gr8 friends and you care about her so hopefully she'll listen to u. YOU HAVE TO STOP HER DRINKING LIKE THAT! She could kill herself as u saw! Talk to her about what u felt that night and how she made u feel, tell her that she should stop drinking and that it could kill her. But before that look at the source i've provided and see what could happen to her and show her.

you describe a classic alcoholic. If you want to be a true friend, get her into treatment....if she won't, you might get her family in on it and do an intervention. But if she remains in denial and continues to drink, you'd best back off the relationship, because she will drag you down with her.

that is what my brother is like. She prob. thinks that a burgler or killer is going to come into her house at night to kill her. What my parents do is they just play along and check in his closet and under his bed. bout the hangover, for her birthday, get her the CUTEST stuffed animal ever and on her birthday card write, "one of your wishes granted by me, protection." She'll be less scared to go to bed and she'll always know that you have her back.
