I live in Georgia and my grandmother taught me to make tea and everyone I know makes it this way. Put 2 family size tea bags (or 6 regular) in a 2qt. pot almost full of water. Bring the water/tea to a rolling boil. Take off the heat as soon as it starts boiling or your tea bags may bust. In a 1 gallon jug/pitcher add 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar up to 1 and 3/4 depending on how sweet you like it....we all use a cup and 1/2 though. Pour tea over the sugar, add the tea and stir until all the sugar is completley dissolved. Add enough cold water to this to fill the gallon container completly. Just a note though, me and several family members just cannot stand hot tea. I like "day old" tea. I make it at night and refriderate over night and it is soooo much better the next day. A gallon of tea if it lasts will keep in the fridge for 3 days. Hope it helps. Beth

made this for a reception:

in the bulk spice aisle pick up:
a bag of cinnamon sticks
a bag of cardamom
a bag of cloves
a bag of peppercorns

In large pot on stove, add 10-12 cups cold water
Add 10 cloves
10 cardamom seeds
8 peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick
Bring to boil, simmer and steep with black tea for 25-30 minutes.
Strain into a seperate teapot.
And BAM-- you got yourself some Indian Spiced Chai

Once you make it once, you'll love it and spice it to your liking the next time... ENJOY!
