Are you sure you have peripheral neuropathy. Did you have an emg to diagnosis it. What is the cause, the most common cause is diabetes. Lycria is designed for P>N>and that is its primary use. Another drug that works well is Neurotin, its an antiseizure medication buthelps to interrupt thepain pathways in the brain. lso are you on an antidepressant, these also help like Neurotin, by interrupting the pain pathways. If you have done all this it might be time to consult with a pain Dr.
Also P.N. usually only afffects the legs so your entire body should not ache.

Lyrica can be taken in does of 25mg, 50mg, and 75mg. If you are taking a lower dose I would ask your doctor to up the dosage. You may take Lyrica up to 2 or 3 times a day depending on how severe your medical condition is. Generally, this is the only medication out there that I've found to help Peripheral Neuropathy and Peripheral Vascular disease. You may also ask your doctor to prescribe physical therapy. Your P.T. facilities may have something which is called 'Anodyne Therapy'. I've also found this on top of the Lyrica has improved patient condition. Good luck.

I have Nursed many patients over my forty years of Nursing. I have seen many approaches to treatment of Neuropathy. Neurontin still had the greatest effect on chronic Neuropathy. I have seen and participated in many newer approaches and yet found that our patients did not benefit long term from any of them. Neurontin is not without its own side effects as well. It is one ot the most painful of processes so I am hoping that you will find answers that can help. I have been retired for over a year so there may be treatments that are more helpful today. Good question and great information for all to know.

If you've been taking this drug for almost a year without relief from your pain, then you are way over do to be evaluated for some other pain control measures, whether it be a different med or other pain control measures, (biofeedback, hypnosis, heat, massage, etc...). Don't tolerate the pain, in this day and age you should not have to live in pain, and if your Dr isn't up to the challenge of your pain control, then it's way past time for a change in Dr.'s. Good luck!

well Lyrica is used designed specifically to relieve 2 of the most common types of nerve pain: Diabetic Nerve Pain and Pain after Shingles maybe ask your doc about raising the amount. if your body can tolerate a little more...then ask him/her about increasing amount.
