I need to loose few pounds, let`s say 20 lbs. So I wanna know, whether swimming is a great exercise to loose weight? Especially areas like thighs, belly and back, will I be abkle to loose weight from those areas by taking swimming.Coz that`s the only thing I love to do and haven`t done for longtime.

Yes it works every thing, it does cardio, and arms, legs, if you suck in your stomach,a nd flex it the whole time then it also works yoru stomach harder other wise your stomach is the only muscle not really being toned, jsut flappin there hahahagrosssorry

No, swimming is not good for weight loss; especially in your stomach. I know of several ladies that swim 5 hours a week or more. One of them can swim for well over a mile without resting. All of them are overweight with a large waist. I have heard the cool water slows your metabolism and cuts down on weight loss.

well you are working your entire body so from what i've heard swimming is really good for weightlose, that's why a lot of people are skinnier in the summer one because of the warm weather and two because their out more swimming and stuff. so i'l strongly suggest swimming if you want to lose weight.

Swimming is the best exercise there is.It lets you use more of your body than other forms of exercise.Swimming doesn't,t need exercise machines or expensive gyms.You enjoy swimming go for it!
