i have some pimples on my chest that i really want to get rid of in the next month before summer. first of all do you think benzoyl peroxide would be the best bet and, mainly, do i need a prescription to get benzoyl peroxide cream or gel?

No you do not need a prescpription to purchase benzoyl peroxide if the concentration is under 10%. Any concentration higher than 10% you will need a prescription. I would recomemmend an acne scrub daily for the pimples on your chest. Noxema or clearasil works great if you use them regularly

Of course not. Many of today's acne products contain Benzoyl Peroxide. (for example, most of Neutrogena's products) There are products that contain a certain amount of B.P. that require a prescription (lotions, body and face washes, etc. that typically contain around 10% of the stuff as opposed to the 2% found in OTC products.) Just read the labels of acne products in your local store and you'll find that many contain benzoyl peroxide.

That works. No, you don't need a prescription. Tons of acne creams or gels are available in any drugstore with benzoyl peroxide in it.

No, they have benzoyl peroxide in most facial products sold over the counter

Sound like the best bet. You can get over the counter preparations in the UK. Not sure about elsewhere.
