Why is it we have had hunters since man has been on earth? Why is it we have canine teeth? Why is it we have eyes like a predator and not a prey animal?
We are carnivores and meant to eat meat! Its in our nature to hunt . Atleast those of us who are survivors
Its not a cool thing , Its a way to get out and enjoy nature and enjoy the beauty of it all.
Hunters do more for game conservation and management than any other group. We are the leading contributor of funds for game habitat and management.
Since your into percentages why dont you look up how much the percentage or the deer population has grown since the pilgrims came here.
I think your backwards with your 2 percent , You mean to say 2 percent of wild game doesnt get eaten.

If you will give me a minute, I can locate a crowbar to help you wedge your head out of your liberal ***. Now that you can breath better, where are you getting this crazy non-sense?
For one, most people who hunt from a stand can use Bows, Rifles, Shotguns, and I believe in some case pistols and black powder, but most of this can apply to blinds as well as stands.
Second most people who hunt rarely use anything more expensive than what can be had for less than nine hundred dollars at the local shop.
Third hunters who do not "eat" what they kill normally donate said animal to local agencies to feed the hungry
Forth hunters play a vital role in population control since most predators are missing from a vast majority of America
Fifth monies paid for licenses go towards habitat conservation so hippies like you can stroll with rose colored eyes through the daisies
Sixth many hunters, me included, don't "KILL" everything we see in our gun sight. Many times I have watched in awe of a full racked deer just being a deer.
So please ponder these points and I advise you should know your subject a little bit better before you shove your foot in your mouth. Remember kids, read books, dont burn them!

What's not cool about it?
Are they hurting you with their guns while they are climbing trees with thousand dollar weapons?
Why is your ignorance about this subject so blatantly obvious?
By the way, I don't hunt. I am not a redneck, nor am I a city person. I have been a few times, but not interested anymore. I didn't kill anything, but it was very nice to see nature the way it was before us humans ruined it.
I was a Marine. We hunted people without the tree stands and thousand dollar weapons. "Whut's so kewl about that?"
Shut the **** up, you don't know what you're talking about.
To each his own. For you it seems to be ignorance.
Running your thousand dollar computer uses natural resources, too. A hunter doesn't.

While there are a few 'bad guys' that hunt, the 99% majority of hunters are decent, honest, hard-working, church-going people who respect nature and eat what they kill.
Many hunters give some of every harvest to friends, neighbors and people in need in their communities. I know of no one that waste meat. In the hunters' community, these people would be shunned if they did.
Your knowledge in the matter by the way you ask this question shows that you don't know anything about hunters.
Shame on you for coming here and mocking people based on your own ignorance.

Cool? It's not cool. It's F**KING COLD come December with ten degrees and 20mph wind. Most hunters do eat what they shoot. Some do shoot extra deer and give it to their local butcher/locker for the HUSH program; "Help Us Stop Hunger". I donated three does in the last two years. Go back to the vegan/vegetarian section where the hypocrites say they care about animals.

Hunting to me is almost a religious experience. Harvesting a deer or bear is great, but I would hunt even if I knew I would never shoot another animal. It is part of who I am. To watch the sunrise and hear the woods come to life on a crisp, autumn morning bow hunting in Colorado is beyond words. Hunting is good for the soul. I enjoy the peace; I enjoy the time with my friends; I enjoy the exercise and clean air; I enjoy trying to out-smart the game on their turf; I enjoy the freedom.
I grew up in the Midwest, where I learned to hunt from my father. It was a good way to spend time together, and in the process, it was a good way to learn values and respect for the land and the creatures around us. The magic of a bugling bull in September. A whitetail chasing a doe during the rut. The size and power of a bear lumbering down a stream bed. The gobbling of a turkey in the pre-dawn hours. The cackling of rooster pheasant as it takes flight from under your feet.
I have a good friend from Hungary who I’ve been hunting with for the past seven years. He told me that hunting in his country was not for "common people" like him. After our first hunt he wrote his brother to tell him what he had done--it was a great privilege. I have been a bird and animal watcher since childhood, and hunting seems to me to be a way of life. Don’t get me wrong, the kill can be very exciting, but it can also be a descent. I prefer eating wild game to any store-bought meat, and for that reason view the kill as a somewhat necessary conclusion.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved the woods and hunting. Hunting finds a way to inspire our senses. Coffee never tastes as good as at 4 a.m. when you’re joking with family and friends and predicting the day’s hunt. It’s a connection back to the woods, my food, and my history. It’s the thrill of the chase, and the regret for the kill. I can look my food in the eye and not hide behind the styrofoam and plastic wrap of the grocery store.
Most of all I hunt because deer meat with potatoes and carrots in a brown gravy is hard to beat. I grew up in a hunting and fishing family. It was our primary recreation and a source of meat to stretch the family budget. Where other kids had football or basketball, I had a 20-gauge and waders. I came to find a peace and order there that can’t be found in civilization. I f they outlawed hunting tomorrow, I would still spend mornings up a treestand or in a blind. I started to hunt as a child, and I love everything about the outdoors. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about our sport. Merely buying wrapped steaks at the store teaches nothing. Knowing that a life was lost for the meat I need brings home the importance of survival and the truth of life and death. As a meat consumer, I am also an animal killer. I know what I am. I accept it. Hunting keeps me real.

I won't bash the people that hunt in this manner, but it isn't that cool to me. I can't stand sitting up in a tree stand all day and my most expensive gun is no where near $1000. Lastly I don't see the sport in killing an animal that I wold have to bait to get it to come in range. To me, it would be about like playing the old nintendo game "duck hunt" while pressing the zapper gun against the screen; what's the point?

Im a hunter and I have never slept with my sister and I am not a Nascar fan. I am a redneck though and proud of it.
I can sit in a tree stand for hours, with my $200.00 rifle, and then I will eat what I kill.
You don't know anything about hunters or rednecks, so stop trying to understand before you hurt yourself.

There is no point talking to this moron. The question was asked as a statement against hunting and the facts are simply made up. Most hunters eat their harvest. If you don't like hunting, then don't hunt. If you have nothing better to do than insult people, then get a life.

I have never met a hunter who doesnt eat their kill ? Even trophy animals are usually eaten. When I go to Africa, the natives get the meat. So your 2% is a PFA number right ?
By the way, not many people in this world hunt with a thousand dollar rifle ! Also I usually dont shoot the animals when they are feeding, I prefer to shoot them while they are humping. They die happy that way !!
